We had a wonderful family vacation at this property. The house was spotless, the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms were all very well stocked. The pictures don't do it justice, this home is huge! The kids were particularly fond of the media room with the video games and big screen TV. The wrap around deck was also a big hit. Best of all is the location. Palmetto Dunes is one of the best locations on Hilton Head, and the house is located in a very quiet dead end street that is a two minute walk to the beach, You can hear the ocean from the front porch.
The only complaints I would note are the following: Anyone who has ever owned a home knows at any given time there is a list of things that need fixing/updating. This home is no different. The pool/hot tub could use a fresh paint job and re-grouting of the tiles (a couple were loose). The couches in the den and media room, as well as most of the mattresses in the bedrooms have reached the end of their useful life and should be replaced. They were still clean and comfortable but they do sag quite a bit when you sit on them.
The biggest issue we had was that on the hottest days the air conditioning struggled to keep up on the second floor,. We usually set the temperature at 72-73 deg but by the end of the day it would be closer to 75-76. Not catastrophic by any means but for a home that is high end and charges nightly rates accordingly, definately something that needs to be adressed,. One of the bedrooms in particular was affected by this.
I certainly don't want this commentary to come off as negative of even mixed review because we all very much enjoyed our stay, and took full advantage of all this wonderful home has to offer. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and responsive to all our questions, and very prompt. Usually responding within the hour.
I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone!
