Long weekend getaway
We live about an hour from this rental & just wanted to get away for a peaceful stay. We were not disappointed! It’s quiet with beautiful views. The home is cozy, spacious, clean and comfortable. It was close to the local restaurants like the Freezer. We were able to bring our 2 small dogs, and they loved it as well! It was too cold for swimming, but the pool was well maintained. Great firepit area as well! We would definitely stay here again.

Overall we had a great time. Pamela informed us prior to checking in that the TV was broken, so we knew there would not be a television. We informed her of a few maintenance items that could use some attention. It is a beautiful home met our needs.

House needs an uplift
First, let me admit my mistake- I forgot to list my dog as attending, which was a surprise to the owner. We worked it out and I paid the pet fee. However…the house needs a lot of TLC. While there are more than enough pillows and towels, all are paper thin. The “fully stocked” kitchen is stocked with pots and pans that are quite old and some without handles. There are no large bowls for serving or mixing. I had to use soup pots to serve salads and popcorn in. Knobs are missing from drawers and cabinets, there are holes in the lanai, allowing bugs in and the lighting in the house is pretty dismal. Lots of lamps but bulbs are pretty weak. We very much enjoyed the decor, the size of the house, the pool and the stove/oven. Communication with the owner was curt at best. I didn’t hear from her one time until I reached out the day before we got there to understand how I was going to get into the house. I heard from her again the night before we left to ask how everything was and then the day we left to tell me I didn’t pay a pet fee. Again, the pet thing was my mistake and I happily paid the fee, but she was rude and accusatory.

Great house.
Everything was neat and clean. The house was beautiful and private. The pool was warm (definitely recommend paying the extra for heating it in the spring and fall. My friends and I had a lovely time. We would highly recommend.

Golf trip getaway.
We (a group of 4 friends) used this as a base for a golf trip to Cabot Citrus Farms. It’s about 20 minutes from the course and had nice amenities (screened in pool, grill). It was also within a short drive of several bars/restaurants. I would stay here again.

Beautiful Home/Lots of Issues
The host was easy to communicate with but nothing got done with the issues! 1. There was a pool but hearing the pool was extra. I was willing to pay to heat it for the days we would be there, but alas the heater was broken so access to the beautiful pool just taunted my grandchildren! 2. There was a grill on the pool deck, but no filled propane tanks. We wanted to grill so we had to go make the exchange for a propane tank. 3. There was a fire pit as pictured but as we started towards the forgot, we smelled propane gas and I looked around to find out the house used propane gas and I was afraid there was a leak so I reported this to the owner and we did not light the fire pit. 4. The electrical breaker went out in the upstairs bathroom and the electrical panel was in the basement which we did not have access to so I notified the owner. She responded immediately telling me she was coming, but then responded her husband would be there in the morning but he never came. 5. Finally, my daughter slept in the “mermaid” room and had bites all over her legs and arms. When she brought it to our attention we looked but weren’t too concerned until there were more after the second night. I can’t be sure they were bedbugs, but we took the necessary precautions about suitcases and clothes when we got home

From the beginning to the end, everything was outstanding. Pamela, the host, is quick to respond (i.e. good pizza for take-out). Thank you for your great hospitality. We would definitely stay again.

Great house!
This house was absolutely adorable! Loved the music playing when we arrived. The rooms were great and we loved the pool! Mother Nature decided to pay us a visit during our stay so we lost power twice. However it was nice listening to the rain on the balcony. The flashlights in the house weren't working, but after a phone call to Pamela, she got us a nice lantern flashlight to use. I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone wanting to stay in the Homosassa area.

Great spring break home base
Beautiful house! Very clean and comfortable. Loved the decor, made it seem homey yet also like we were on vacation. We were able to walk to the the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park. Easy drive to groceries, restaurants, kayaking, and boat tours. Saw lots of manatees on our river trips! We only had a few small issues which Pamela came out and took care of the first day. Pool was a great size and once it heated up we all enjoyed it and the floaties provided. My only suggestion would be to replace the hammocks and maybe keep them on the porch for guests to put out. We couldn't use the ones that were there because they had been left out and were dirty and covered with mold. And it would be nice to have an earlier check in time. But we would definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

Family Get Together in Homosassa
We enjoyed the property very much. The house was the perfect size, and even though the pool was a bit cold, our grandson enjoyed the pool. The fire pit was perfect for some s’mores and enjoying the night. We look forward to getting back soon.

Great Location
We had 25 people travel to Homosassa for our annual scalloping trip! We had 3 house and this property was one of them! The house was perfect for our large group! We rented the entire house and loved staying there! Great location to our other houses and our favorite restaurants and bars! Pamela was an amazing host, easy to get a hold of and very accommodating! We will definitely stay here in the future!!

Awesome stay at the Blue Lagoon!
Our family of 8 had a wonderful stay at this property! The home was very clean and spacious. The outside area was amazing with hammocks to relax, a firepit and chairs, a large screened in pool and patio area with great seating. Pamela was also easy to communicate with. We had an awesome time and would definitely choose this property again!

Blue Lagoon Provides Relaxing Getaway
The Blue Lagoon was a great getaway from the normal hustle and bustle of our everyday life. The house exceeded our expectations for cleanliness--this was the cleanest VRBO rental we've ever had, and we've had several. The location was excellent for the area, and we very much enjoyed the pool. Thank you, Pamela, for an excellent week away from it all!

Good house for pets
If you're picky this is not the house for you. Positives include a large home for families and pets, and a pool (which we could not use due to record low temps when we were there - even heated the pool never got warm). Nice and adequate towels. Nice stove. Good location. Negatives include inadequate plates/dishes, old pots/pans, lack of blankets/bedding, lots of stairs, no instructions for tvs/channels, and a heating system that is so loud it will wake you up when it cuts on/off. Needs a good cleaning. Has potential but owner needs to bring it up a level or two with better decor and better quality and more utensils. We (frequent renters throughout the Southeast and Florida) left feeling disappointed.

Wonderful house for a family vacation
It is a challenge to find a home of this size at a reasonable price - especially around the holidays. Prior to making the reservation, I emailed Pam several times - and each time she responded promptly. She is simply one of the best hosts from whom we have ever rented. Even to the point of picking up a grocery order so that we would have food in the house upon our (very late night) arrival. We had a minor issue with the temperature of the heated pool upon our arrival, which took a couple days to resolve. But for the remainder of our stay, it was comfy and warm. The house is on a quiet dead end road and about 1/2 mile from a fun wildlife park. A beautiful white sands beach is about 20 minutes away and there are several well stocked grocery stores and restaurants nearby. We were very happy with our decision to stay at the Blue Lagoon!
