The location is unbeatable. The staff and services are great. The rooms are a bit dated, but doesn’t impact too much if you’re outdoors all day.

We arrived after a long flight - it was 10am, and we did (understandably) have to wait until 3pm for our rooms. On arrival to our rooms we discovered that our balconies were bolted shut and locked (and would be for the durations of our stay). I enquired downstairs and was told that I should have been informed by my 3rd party booking agent - I have searched and searched - it is not mentioned once here on your listing! I was also told this is why I received a discount - there was no discount. NONE! The pool was small and noisy, not enough chairs - in fact I was told by the staff to go out front onto their "private beach" and to RENT $$ a chair/umbrella - at the hotel I had already paid for!! Then I was asked if I would like a drink - a margarita - for US$19! This all came at the end of a stressful month after the death of my brother - and this was not the relaxing hotel vacation I had been recommended. Very disappointed!

My room had an issue with the shower and they tried to move me rooms I packed up and the key didn’t work I ended up going back to the old room and staying in it. The valet is a mess they don’t answer the phone and then it takes over 45 minutes to get your car. They close the pool at 6 PM which is such a horrible time. I think the staff can be a little bit more friendly. No one followed up with me regarding the room.

Housekeeping (Kitty) did an amazing job at taking care of our rooms and addressing our concerns. Overall, we enjoyed the Banyan Tree atmosphere and close proximity to the beach (just a few steps away). Only downside was expensive parking.
