We’ve stayed at fine hotels around the world, but this may have been the most beautiful, peaceful one ever. A series of individual bungalows, French or Asian decor all in a walled garden with two pools. Every detail amazing from the fresh flowers and fruit in your room to the lighting on the garden pathways. Two world class restaurants, one French, one Vietnamese and an incredibly kind and helpful staff. Plus a fantastic free breakfast. Could not recommend it more highly to anyone visiting Hue.

a very special experience
I absolutely loved staying at Ancient Hue Garden Houses, in the impeccable Marguerite Duras villa. The attention to detail and the quality of the furnishings, the view onto the pool and the garden, the delicious Vietnamese food in the restaurant, the location (a bit out of the center of town but not too far) - everything came together to make me so glad that I booked my stay here in Hue, a gem of a city. A very special experience that I highly recommend.

Sad to leave such a great place
Staff are great, room was massive and comfy, spa and pool are excellent, all meals were wonderful (pan-breakfast with bahn mi recommended, and Imperial set menu with incredible vegetable carvings), just don’t be clumsy and break anything… Hotels.com indicated a free mini bar but that didn’t turn out to be the case. Still a great place to stay and would recommend at least 3 nights’ stay.

The property is beautiful and has a small number of rooms. Service is personalized and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Spa staff are highly trained and the massages were top notch. We also enjoyed how easy it was to walk to the imperial city.

One of the best hotel experiences in our lives, and we have travelled extensively. When something little failed they not only corrected it, but additionally went overboard, far beyond any expectations, to compensate… we were pampered, amazed, protected, felt special and at home. The property is magnificent, every nook and corner is beautiful and built with care. The food is excellent. The spa top class. The room, amazing, with any and every comfort imaginable… and sooo beautiful. And the service, the friendliness of the staff, their willingness to help and their kindness, far exceed all expectations.

Beautifully preserved historic stay
My wife and I were traveling to Hue as part of a larger Vietnam trip. We are American and we wanted to find an authentically Vietnamese hotel while exploring the Imperial City. The Ancient Hue Garden House did not disappoint. Our room was over 200yr old, high ceilings with detailed carvings in the wood but still with the modern amenities like wifi, full western style bathrooms and ice cold a/c. The pool was wonderfully refreshing after a day of sightseeing. The staff at the restaurant was super friendly and the service all around was top notch. If you have the opportunity to stay here I would highly suggest you do it.

Beautiful villa type environment, immaculately design, very detailed in their decor to evoke the era of the aristocratic Nguyen dynasty. Very cheerful, friendly and helpful staff. Authentic and delicious fine dining Hue cuisine at their restaurant. Rooms are very well kept and clean, housekeeping team are top notch.Centrally located to all the sites, highly recommended for a Royal experience in this cultural and historic city, will be back!

Absolutely recommend and will surely go back if visiting Hue again. (And if I visit Hue again, it would be more likely to stay with them.) Little off from center, (10-15 min.) and located in very quiet, local residential area. To find more dining options, needs to take transportation, but since hotel offers wonderful dishes, wasn't much needed to wander for food, unless having specific needs. As is boutique hotel, whole site isn't huge nor has many facilities or restaurants, and its swimming pool is small, as if it is of pool villas'. However, all property and garden were very carefully designed and decorated. I absolutely loved everything there, and felt like staying in real local noble's house or even in the museum. I couldn't make it, but they also have many tour/excursion options which look very interesting. Every staffs, from receptionest to guard and housekeeping team were so kind and attentive. Even when they they cannot meet guest' every single expectation, could have felt they were really trying, which is enough for me personally. Highly recommended, and will surely come back. :)

Wir haben drei Tage im Ancient Hue Garden Houses verbringen dürfen und waren im neuen Bereich (France Quarter) untergebracht. Das Zimmer und der Service waren Top (!!!) und am Pool haben wir Nachmittage entspannt verbracht. Zum Frühstück steht ein grosse Auswahl an leckeren Gerichten zur Auswahl und auch der Kaffee war super. Hervorzuheben ist auch der Staff, die uns jederzeit ein gut aufgehobenes Gefühl gegeben hat. Preislich zwar gehoben, wir haben die Tage aber sehr genossen.

落ち着いた雰囲気の素晴らしいホテル
古い貴族のお屋敷を改修し、ホスピタリティに溢れた素晴らしいホテルでした。サービスで30分のスパが受けられました。お部屋はビラスタイルで部屋数も全部で１０室くらいでしょうか。落ち着いた大人のためのホテルで、プールなども小さいのでお子様には不向きでしょう。 ホテルそのものはとても素晴らしいものの、ホテル前の川の護岸工事中で、周りをお散歩するにはお店などもなく、ちょっと寂しい地域になります。 王宮までは1キロほど、ということで歩くにはちょっと遠いです。ホテルだけを楽しむステイになります。 10分ほど歩くと大きな川沿いにローカルなレストラン、食堂があります。王宮や帝廟への観光にはホテルで車を呼んでくれ、問題ありません。
