Agriculture is one of its main sources of production, with a predominance of banana plantations, vineyards and dry crops in the middle and upper areas. The ancient Drago tree, one of the most prominent symbols of the archipelago, has brought the town international fame. The Cueva del Viento is located on the northern slope of the Teide volcano. The Cueva del Viento-Sobrado underground complex, with more than 17 kilometres of topography, is the largest volcanic tunnel or tube in Europe and the third largest in the world. It originated from the flows of the Pico Viejo volcano, located next to Teide. The beach of San Marcos has black volcanic sand and is located a short distance from the town of Icod de los Vinos, in a bay protected from the winds by lava flows that penetrate the sea where, according to tradition, the Gothic-Flemish image of the patron saint of Icod, San Marcos, appeared in a cave.

Echt kanarisch!
Dieses Landhaus ist ein Objekt, in dem wir uns sofort wohlgefühlt haben. Für Urlauber, die das "echte" Teneriffa kennen und lieben bzw. kennenlernen möchten, ist das Haus ideal - mitten im Stadtviertel El Amparo gelegen, mit Blick auf den Ozean (bei gutem Wetter und mit Glück kann man sogar den Teide vom Fenster aus sehen), authentisch ausgestattet und trotzdem mit allem Komfort. Vielen Dank, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Wohlfühlquartier
Gepflegte großzügige Ferienwohnung - es fehlt an nichts für einen kurzen oder langen Aufenthalt. Die Unterkunft liegt ca 250 m hoch im Ortsteil Ampara. Ein Auto ist unbedingt zu empfehlen. Der Blick aufs Meer und die Berge ist unverstellt. In den Wintermonaten erreicht die Sonne für ca 2 h nur einen kleinen Teil der Terasse. Dafür sorgt der Kamin in der Küche in der kalten Jahreszeit für Behaglichkeit. Holz stellt der Vermieter ungefragt zur Verfügung. Zwei der drei Schlafzimmer sind durch eine Wand getrennt, die nicht ganz bis zum Dachgiebel hochgezogen ist (Info für empfindliche Ohren). Handtücher und Bettwäsche gibt es reichlich; sie werden bei Bedarf gewechselt.
