The staff are very friendly and helpful, particularly the desk receptionist who tried to sort out a problem apparently caused by hotels.com.
We stayed in the executive room which was comfortable however there was an unpleasant smell constantly coming from the bathroom, possibly the drains.
Cleanliness was acceptable but there were cracked tiles on the bathroom floor and the carpet looked unhoovered.
There was a party taking place and we were almost overlooking the courtyard which was noisy, but didnt go on after 11pm so acceptable.
Breakfast was good with hot and cold choices but if only having bacon and sausage was 2 dry slices and 1 sausage on a massive plate which felt a bit stingey.
Overall our one night stay was okay.
Outstanding place, booked 3 nights with breakfast included and it was really nice, had a lovely meal in the hotel which was fabulous. Staff all friendly and courteous and couldn’t help enough, the only negative I’d like to point out is staff coming to the breakfast table and not clearing the plates etc when it should be just a natural thing to do but hey if that’s my only complaint it should be taken as a suggestion not criticism guys … we loved our stay and would definitely recommend it . Its ideally situated for exploring the area if it’s from travelling over the amazing Humber bridge and beyond to visiting the lovely easts coastline be it cleethorpes, mabelthorpe or Skegness which are all within 1hour 15 minutes of the wonderful Ashbourne hotel, try it you’ll love it ….
Little bit of confusion at check in which was quickly and easily sorted out by the staff. Apparently hotels.com and the hotel aren’t compatible when booking so I’d call ahead if you are staying here to cover any issues before you arrive. Either way, we got a room that we were expecting and breakfast. Room was large and comfortable, very clean.
Stayed for my wife’s birthday and glad i chose here the hospitality was amazing the food 10/10 not over priced rooms were great and a unique garden to walk around would definitely be staying there again

During my most recent two stays, when I've left wet towels on the floor of the shower cubicle to be changed, Housekeeping hasn't changed them but has instead just put the wet towels back on the towel rails, leaving me with wet, dirty towels to come back to!
Returned after a few years with my husband.
Nice welcome but missed out on some specials not offered and issued the more expensive wine option, will check next time.
Needs a little more attention to detail I. Cleaning- bin in room not emptied from previous occupier.
Overall lovely but a little disappointed.
Will stay again .
Amazing staff, lovely and friendly had a issue with my tyre going flat and the lovely reception let me borrow her own personal one and really helped me out thank you 😊
