Amazing, with all the winds we had from Milton out in gulf, you never heard any breezes through doors or noise. Just quiet. Heavy rains were quietly muffled and peacefulness, could not have been matched. Construction was hampered by weather, Once construction is complete, this will be the resort To go to in the keys.

Very disappointed! An email stating a pool is under construction doesn’t describe how much is going on at the resort. Ocean view is of a blue construction fence. It will look great when it’s done but far from it but should be charged accordingly.

Overall, we had a great stay! With the exception of one or two people the hotel staff was outstanding! A couple of things to note: Pros: *the property is beautiful and very relaxing. The rooms are all very modern and have a lot of space and a little backyard. *All rooms (we reserved 7) had lots of complimentary items which was a pleasant surprise. *Service was great. *Shuttle service provided to nearby places. Drop off and pick up. *Lots of really cute restaurants nearby. Con’s: *Resort is currently under construction which I did not see noted on Expedia. Some areas were not available and did not look very appealing. Expedia listed this property has 2 pools, which is true but only ONE is open and the main one is under construction. Staff said construction would be complete sometime in December. *While this is a dog friendly property be sure to read thru all the details throughly. You need to request a “dog friendly room” ahead of time AND even though you pay an additional charge to bring your fur baby they can not be left unattended in the room which means your pet goes where you go at all times. I didn’t discover this until after booking which caused extra stress as I had to figure out pet care instead of bringing with me. Be sure to read through everything to avoid any disappointing surprises.

Islander is a happy place, where everybody is smiling. Most rooms are newly renovated and look great. I enjoyed breakfasts at the Elements restaurant. Also this resort is dog friendly. My pouch loves wading in the ocean!

We aren’t told about the renovation construction going on. They closed the main pool during the five days we were there. While they upgraded our room the room itself had hair all over the couch and pillows and the bathroom sink was clogged up. We were comped one drink each for the construction inconvenience. All things considered, we did enjoy our visit to islamorada

Staff was fabulous. We stay there every year for a dive trip. They have remodeled and honestly liked it better before. They took down screens on patios, so you can’t sit outside without being attacked by mosquitoes. Miss the little kitchen area, there’s also no counter space in bathroom with new sinks that sit on top. They put decorative stools and other stuff in rooms that just takes up space, nobody is going to sit on them, they are hard.

CONSTRUCTION/RENOVATION
THIS PLACE IS VERY NICE AND ALL WAS GOOD EXCEPT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION/RENOVATION THAT IS GOING ON. HALF OF THE PLACE IS CLOSED AND THERE IS EARLY MORNING NOISE FROM RENOVATION, HAD I KNOWN I WOULD HAVE STAYED ELSEWHERE. WHEN I MADE THE RESERVATION IT DID NOT INDICATE THE CONSTRUCTION. ALSO THE PIER FOR FISHING IS CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY, JUST FOR THAT I WILL NOT GO AGAIN.
