We were very happy with our 7 day stay. Super friendly and helpful staff. The atmosphere was warmer and more relaxed than some of the other hotels and resorts along Jambiani beach.
The beach immediately in front of the resort is good for swimming, depending on the time of day and what the tide is doing. When we were there, the tide was high ~1 hour later every day (i.e. day 1=10 am, day 2=11am etc) and is no deeper than ~3 feet. Quite a lot of seaweed, but you get used to that. At times, the sand can get very sludgy, like mud.
I would suggest the rooms could be improved with AC, a fridge and perhaps a complimentary daily bottle of water.
There were a few electricity blackouts, water shortages and crummy wifi. But, its not fair to criticize the hotel for this. These issues are common across the island.
