Our family of 4 people had spent 16 nights on Jeju Island. Our last stop was at Grabel Hotel and this was the worst hotel! We had arrived just before 12pm. We knew normal check in time is 3pm. I waited until 1.30pm to ask receptionists if there was a room available as we had 2 elderly people in their 80s in our group. Answer was earlier check in charge was KRW20K. I said previous 3 hotels had all allowed us to check in earlier due to elderly people being weaker needing to have more rest. They said: "We are not other hotels." Indeed, they are NOT as sympathetic as other hotels for sure! At 2pm, I ask them again - What is your check out time please? They said: 11am. I said it is 3 hours by now. You must have at least 1 room available by now for our 2 elderly people to get in to their room earlier to have a rest first please? They then agreed for me to show them 4 passports and fill in their form first. After that, they said they could let us in at 2.30pm. All our previous hotels had a check out time of 12pm but they had all kindly allowed our elderly people to get in to their room at around 1pm. Eventually at 2.33pm, they had given me our room keys. I had never ever seen any hotel receptionists being so rude, cruel, unreasonable and unsympathetic as that man and that woman receptionists being on duty on that day on 26th July 2024!!! This so called 4 star hotel does NOT have a gym! HOW COULD THEY BE 4 STAR WITHOUT A GYM? MOULD SPOTS ON SHOWER CORNERS!!!

The photos were deceiving..’pool is quite small and seats around it need to be paid for. Everything needed extra payment.. including towels. There was a lounge in 10th floor for special rooms and that you couldn’t pay extra for!

Disappointing is the word.
It’s not as good as it seems totally. The cleanliness is not up to 4 star standard for sure and some stuffs are pretty old. Plenty of hair around the room even though we had room service everyday. Bed sheet did not get replaced everyday as well. Receptionist are extremely rigid as well as check out later than 11am (most of the hotels are 12pm) will charge additional 20000 won regardless of any circumstances. Request for slight late check out as we have a kid and got rejected immediately. If checking out at 11am so that there is plenty of time for the cleaners to clean up the room. I suppose the cleanliness should be way way better.

Nice rooftop pool, short drive to nice beaches. Not too busy of an area, easier to drive in for people not used to Korean driving. Great views from the room no balcony unfortunately. A bit dated, probably needs a better tv entertainment system and a refresh in the rooms. Rooftop bar could probably do with a good cocktail menu.

Friendly and great location
Overall the staff were friendly and the room was nice. However, the room was unusually humid and had a very slight musty odor. The pool was very nice and had a great view and the location was near enough to the airport and famous attractions.

They had a policy about prohibiting to bring the food in and eat it in the room. We’re facing Covid-19 and sometimes we feel comfortable eating outside. They shouldn’t force such poicy on customers at times like this. In fact, if they are worried about cleaning afterwards and that’s reason why they have this policy for, they should remember the cost of staying includes housekeeping fees.

We are facing COVID-19 now and it’s inevitable to order take-outs to eat in the room if we don’t feel comfortable to eat in the restaurants. Having the policy that prohibits bringing the food in is absolutely ridiculous especially in this time when we are facing the pandemic, and it is in fact, disrespectful to their customers. I don’t know how much cleaning the hotel management has to deal with usually but again, that should be also included in the price for the stay. Honestly, for the price I paid, I don’t know if I want to stay here again after having to deal with this unnecessarily.
