Was not five star property. The extortionate cost of basic amenities left a bad taste in our mouths for example, $65 a night for parking is the highest I have ever heard of and I travel all the time! The sun loungers and beach chairs are included in the $55 per night resort fee but you need to be in the line of people reserving them at 7am every single day. They are all reserved by 730am and then you lose out for the day. Beach chairs are few and far between in 8 days I asked twice daily and nothing was available. Had to sit on the sand on a towel or, rent a beach lounger for $150. For a family this adds $300 per day.
The pool bed situation is out of control. Beds are jammed together forcing people to rent poolside cabanas starting at $800 and up to $3200 per day! Sadly, despite the beach and surroundings being lovely I wouldn't return. The Four Seasons and Andaz are much nicer with plenty of room and much more relaxing. Sadly, we were incredibly underwhelmed at the Grand Wailea. The spa is incredible and has the quality wow factor. Prices range from $200 but lovely service.
