Poipu Crater Resort situated amidst lush landscaping in an old volcanic crater. This 15 unit, low-rise Polynesian inspired duplex condominium property is nestled among fragrant tropical foliage and exotic banana trees. Resort features include tennis, paddle tennis, pool, sauna, ping pong, and barbecue. Poipu Crater Resort is just a four block walk to Poipu Beach to the west, and "Shipwreck" beach to the east.

This spacious, fully furnished condo includes a full kitchen complete with stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. Bedrooms are comfortably furnished with linens, pillows and bed coverings. HDTV, free high-speed WiFi, free onsite parking, and private access.

Hidden Gem
Poipu crater was so magnificent, walking distance to the pool and beach. Condo was a little out dated, but hey you’re in Kaua’i what more could you need! The condo was perfect for 2 couples! Or even for a family. Was a great place to spend our vacation. The only negative thing was that the HOA president and his wife are very rude, accusatory, and snooty.

Parking was close!!!!
I was halfway through a long, detailed, tongue in cheek review of this place but I decided that was too mean and not worth my effort. So here’s this- You know that vacation place that has either a) been in the family for years or b) picked up as a bargain by a rental landlord and either way nobody wants to invest in it, just enjoy the rentals coming in? That’s this place. Short of short-term repairs, I don’t think this place has had any loving attention since the Brady Bunch visited Hawaii. It’s sad, actually, because it has potential. It was available on relatively short notice. Parking was close. See? Not a negative review. But I wouldn’t rent this again.

Property improvements
Overall the property was pretty good. However there were a few things that need to be fixed. Electrical switches didn’t always work. Overhead fans would stop and have to be manually started. Screen doors on both sliders need to be replaced. Cabinet and closet doors don’t close. Kitchen was good except it would be nice to have another set of dishes. Correll for example. We did have a good time and the location is awesome.

Renovations not complete. Unit shows its age and not clean.
Property manager was great to work with. Just check to make sure they’re planes upgrades are done before renting. Nice location. Decent water pressure.

Total Dump
Wouldn’t recommend this unit for anything or anyone. Total dump. Clean? Sure but only because it’s not an adobe hut. Everything is old and in obvious disrepair. Unit is not cared for by any one except the cleaning staff. Made the owner money and it’s never been reinvested in. Old and uncomfortable everything. Mattress doesn’t sag, but definitely doesn’t give much cushion either. It’s a great location and Kauai is always fun, but there’s nothing about the unit that is recommended. Roof doesn’t leak and there are beds and running water. No bed bugs and carpets are fine. Dishes are fine. Fans in each room that work...so it’s live able but not a nice place in any real sense of the term. Highly recommend something else.
