Cheap and clean, great staff, tiny hot room
We had a reservation but because other clients stayed an extra day they gave away our room. Rooms are very small maybe 3m x 2.5m with 6 beds, none have windows and the construction is weird. Rooms hot and stuffy. Only 1 shower has hot water. But staff are super friendly and helpful and everything is very clean.

Good hostel
Yes, the rooms don't have windows but I didn't asphyxiated. The bathrooms and showers are clean. The owner was very nice and helpful, he gave us tips of things to do around Arenal. I would totally recommend this hostel to anyone going to Arenal for a couple of days.

Friendly Hostel
Our experience at Eco Hostel was very positive. The owners Pablo and Rommell were really friendly and helpful when it came to arranging trips. There is an area upstairs to prepare food and relax on the couch. Overall a great hostel, would recommend highly! (Also, there is access to a gym next door at no cost!)

If everywhere is full..
you won't be given a key to shared dorm, you have to ask reception to open door each time. Hostel is located upstairs in a shopping centre. the dorms don't have own bathroom but there are two make-shift shower rooms & two toilets located in reception area that are shared by approx 30 people. Tiny rooms with 3 bunkbeds to sleep 6. $10 I would suggest pay extra $2 and go Hotel La Amistad or Hostel Backpackers La Fortuna which are better located in centre & close to bus station.

La Fortuna...de Eco hostel
Venue pour un séjour en solo au Costa Rica, c'est le prix et la locamisation qui m'ont fait choisir l'Eco Hostel. Donc je savais que je ne devais pas m'attendre à un miracle. Toutefois le personnel est super ! Les équipement plus que suffisants et c'est propre grâce à une femme de ménage qui doit être là 24/24 car je la croisais à n'importe quelle heure du jour. On se fait vite des amis. Le seul vrai inconvénient à mon goût c'est le bruit la nuit...Les murs sont de fines cloisons et on entend tout. Le type qui ronfle à côté comme s'il était avec vous dans le lit...c'est du vécu! Sinon merci Eco Hostel c'était top !
