The property is located next to a fantastic lagoon with multiple coral reefs and has uniquely close access to the beach. Also they have great tropical landscaping. Besides that is just a run down motel with strangely equipped with some high end appliances, nicely remodeled ceiling and decent rain shower. The room service is not overwhelmingly caring and the manager is kind of arrogant. The room walls and ceiling are not soundproof to the extent that you feel living practically together with your neighbors. The bed was 7” shorter than US standard and most of the pillows are heavyweight and hard. The silverware is sanded to make it look decent after long usage. The internet is unstable. The toilet bowl seemed to be a fancy one but was constantly malfunctioning. Bathroom sink faucet was half dead, required big efforts to get warm water out it and just to shut it off. Not expecting too much from a $400 per night studio at this location, I was really surprised how low things could be stretched. Pls be aware that beach sand slope is very steep there but it’s not not hotel’s fault.

The grounds are beautiful and the units are cute very old Hawaii “hale” style. Sinks and shower drains emit old mildew smell, so can’t give a higher rating. That being said the staff is great and good value for staying up in Napili.

Stayed at The Mauian for 3 nights and it was perfect! On a wonderful swimming beach and walking distance to two other great swimming and snorkeling beaches. Parked the car when we arrived and didn’t have to move it again until check out! Staff is friendly, rooms are clean - we’ll be back!

I liked the fact that the beach was so close, just a few feet away. It was pleasantly quiet. My only complaint is there seemed to be an unpleasant odor in the room almost like mildew.

My 4th time at the Mauian because it has an old Hawaiian feel to it. Low rise, big lawn and pool, not a corporate hotel or condo.

Hawaiian boutique waterfront hotel in paradise
Our favorite boutique hotel on Maui. We love resorting but our vacations are a special time to bring our family together, and The Mauian has earned the label Our favorite destnation getaway on our favorite Hawaiian island, Maui. We have found we are not alone, many guests we spoke with are returning guests, reuniting generations of their families. The location is excellent, waterfront to Napili Bay, the rooms are clean, our family is safe, and the sunsets can't be beat. Our recent 7 day getaway was the best yet, perfect snorkeling with Eagle rays, turtles, eels, and every kind of tropical fish you can imagine. Buy foaties on your way in, bring your go-pro explore this beautiful bay. Try local restaurants and cafes, you'll be pleasantly surprised, Sea House restaurant has an excellent breakfast, and wonderful Macadamia nut crusted Mahi Mahi, with specials every night. Kaanapali is just a short drive away for shopping and restaurants, Duke's restaurant at sunset is a must when you visit Maui. Cooking in, poolside barbecues are available, pool feels 80 degrees and is spotless. Most of all my favorite feel at the Mauian is the meticulously maintained landscape. I'm drawn back to this property year after year for many reasons, the pride they have for their landscape is one of them. If you want to enjoy the Hawaiian vibe, beautiful sunsets, lush lanscape, friendly people, be close to new adventures, give the Mauin a try, they won't dissapoint.

Pros: amazing location, beautiful landscaping, rooms have kitchenette, friendly staff beach is just spectacular! Cons: during 8 days stay we had housekeeping clean the room only once (other days they just gave us towels), room was dark and AC was blowing right on the bed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Maui :)

This is such a great spot, everything felt carefully chosen and the location was awesome. My reservation was for a pool view but honestly- partial ocean view ;) we spent time on another part of the island and I will say, this spot had the best sunset!

Hidden gem condo with small stove. Close to a restraunt no breakfast anymore. No wifi and floor was slanted or warped pretty bad in 201. 3500 for the week grocery store close by if ur nit wineing and dining then this is ur place pool small and the have great grills and supplies in room wayer brita pitcher was great
