There was a strike going on outside of the hotel, we were booed for going into the hotel- but once inside the employees were so great to us and upgraded our room because of the inconvenience. I would definitely stay there again.

Unfortunately, we were there while the property was on strike. They did very little to compensate us for the unfortunate experience. Had we known what was happening, we probably would have selected another resort. I felt terrible for the way the staff was being treated, however it was unfair that we did not have full service of our rooms, lack of access to the main restaurant, and the management didn't seem to care about us or the staff. Please pay your hotel staff fairly so that this does not occur again.

It’s no way a nice hotel as this one doesn’t have microwaves. After a long day of site seeing and dinner at one steakhouse. How am I supposed to warm my food up and eat?

From checking in to navigating hotel staff was rude and unfriendly and not helpful. Staff on strike outside were yelling and screaming and blocked our entering. We had no idea about strike. Staff at spa was horrendous!!! Rude intense and dismissive ended up walking away when we went to check in because how awful the staff was to my daughter and myself. You could not pay me to Come back.

The situation surrounding the hotel was not under their control—there was a union strike going on that grew progressively more aggressive and hostile throughout our stay. It was very uncomfortable crossing the picket line.

The potential of this property is amazing. I loved it there. There was just a few issues some of which were beyond anyone's control. We happened to stay there when there was a strike on. The picketers had a laud speakers repeating " NO CONTRACT ,NO PEACE" 24 hours a day. Then the hotels answer was to play outdoor music extremely laud to drown out the picketers. Just sounded like complete mayhem. We as customers had nothing to do with this labor dispute but we were the victims. Also not everything was open due to the labor dispute. I do completely understand that the staff was doing all they could do. On our day leaving we needed a cab to the airport at 3 am. We went to the front desk and asked them to make a call for us. We were told What do you want me to do about it. it wasn't until we asked to use the phone ourselves that we had a cab coming. When we went outside the guys there who look after the coming and goings approached us. we told him what went on and Said we have house vehicles and he did give us a ride ( thank you so much ). This info should have been looked after by the front desk. I guess we were just wasting their time.

The lady who check me in was professional and friendly. Some of the hotel staff were on strike outside of the hotel. They harassed you on the way to the front entrance. They had music blasting aimed at the hotel from the parking lot. It was the craziest thing i have ever experienced at a hotel. The good thing was you could not hear it inside. The room was great! It had a couch and a table to lounge. There was a doorbell and even a seperate door to close off the bedroom from the entrance and bathroom. The only odd thing about the room was it did not have a blanket on the bed or in the closet. My first experience with this. It was cold and you had to raise the temperature of the room to 78 degrees to counteract the no blanquet. Our room had an almost perfect view of the sphere. It was quiet and easy to sleep.

I want to preface this by saying we have stayed at the property (when it was still Hard Rock) a few times and LOVED it. Hence we came back despite the Virgin takeover. Vegas has priced themselves out of being a destination and done everything possible limit hospitality towards its guests. This will be our last trip to Vegas for the foreseeable future. - Our room had no option for room service, even the phone would not call the front desk - Our room also had a single towel and we could not get another despite trying multiple times - There is no coffee maker, no decent drinking water despite an insulting .25L bottle in the room. - We saw a concert at the Theater (used to be The Joint) and the sound engineering was horrible and the bands all looked like they wanted to get the heck out of there. - Adding airport convenience stores at ABOVE airport pricing inside the hotel is insulting. $8 for a can of PBR? $6 for a small bottle of water? - Drinks and food is so astronomical that including tips its easily over three digits for even breakfast. Outside of that, the Culinary Union went on strike and shut down the restaurants in the hotel and Virgin did nothing to communicate this with its guests nor make offers of compensation or arrangements to improve client experiences. In effect, once we got through the secruity and picket line, we had to go to other hotels for food and beverage service. What a joke. At least the bed was comfortable, even though it was a single blanket.

When we arrived, all the culinary staff were on strike so all the restaurants were shut. Not one word of this was mentioned at check-in. There were strikers picketing outside but this also wasn't mentioned and over the three nights of our stay, their numbers swelled and they became much more aggressive and intimidating towards staff and customers. Regardless of the justifiaction or otherwise for the strike the hotel managed it appallingly. They managed to get one restaurant open enough for a buffet breakfast (at $35 a head) but didn't tell us that or let us know the hours. The only option for refreshments seemed to be Dunkin' Donuts and one of the bars. At no point did anyone acknowledge or apologise for the situation. On our last night, thoroughly fed up with the situation and by the abuse outside, we complained at the front desk. Again no apology, the girl told us they were not allowed to discuss it. She did get her supervisor whose whole attitude was basically 'tough'. Eventually she said she'd refund the three nights resort fee (and don't get me started on that!) but couldn't do more as we'd booked through a third party - Expedia - and to take it up with them!. It is hardly Expedia's fault that the hotel failed to deliver the service and facilities we'd booked. The resort fee wasn't refunded correctly so we ended up in a battle with them to sort it. Attitude was awful. Valet staff were great esp as they had to put up with racket outside. Virgin - sort it out!
