Let me start with the negative, if possible AVOID Hwy 268 from Lenior. This route is faster, but it leads to steep, one lane gravel roads with hairpin turns and no guard rails - NOT for the faint of heart. This route can be even more treacherous if there is rain, snow or fog.
There is a much better route, if you navigate to Blowing Rock first and then take Aho Rd or Blue Ridge Parkway. This route is mostly paved - A much safer route and really beautiful.
The last stretch on Duggar Firetower is steep, but well maintained. As long you maintain your steering and keep on the gas it’s not bad. Might want 4WD or chains depending on weather conditions.
Beyond that, the home was amazing, the views were breath taking and sunrise was beautiful. The owners were attentive and the attention to detail was noticeable. Everything was as promised. The kitchen is fully stocked and the bathrooms had little extras, like shampoo, soap, medicine, kids diapers etc, which was really nice.
We stayed during Christmas time, the cabin even had a Christmas tree, decorations all throughout and Christmas candles, which was nice! We had tons of linens, they were clean and smelled extra fresh.
I personally loved the outside hot tub and the sauna in master bath, worked great!!
The cell phone coverage inside the cabin for T-Mo and Verizon is 1 bar or less and the internet is satellite based, so periodically it didn’t work, when it did work it was slow with high latency.
Amazing Stay **5-Stars**
