Lovely hotel, clever design to convert the use of an older property. Rooms are beautifully designed. Garden is spectacular. The whole ambience is of sophisticated calmness and tranquillity. I will stay again during my next trip to Lisbon/Cascais

Casa Vela is in a unique setting with beautiful gardens. The breakfast area is in the main house and offers a buffet service with cold and hot options. The walk into the centre is lovely with lots of restaurants to choose from. There are two pools at the hotel, sadly these were not heated and the jacuzzi pool did not work so it was not possible to use them. Also there are building works being carried out in the area so it wasn't that peaceful. On the whole it was a pleasant stay.

A great property and room; excellent breakfast. It would have been a 5 star rating except that the front desk clerk (Nono) was smug, unprofessional, and embarrassed us by saying we paid too much for the room (even though it was the hotel that partnered with the online booking service we used). An unfortunate welcome, but everything else was superb.

We loved our stay at Vela Casa. We had a large modern apartment with a balcony overlooking the gardens. A separate room for my daughter with a very basic kitchen (we did our own breakfasts and made picnics - so perfect for us). The staff were polite, friendly and discreet. We would definitely stay again.

I would return to Casa Vela in a heartbeat - it’s a beautiful boutique hotel. The grounds are stunning with lots of areas to explore. The pool is peaceful and has the right amount of sun and shade. We enjoyed relaxing in the lounge in the evening too. The bedroom was spacious with comfortable beds. The bathroom was a little cramped but clean. Overall, a wonderful stay!

Cascais - great hotel
I liked this hotel. It's in a convenient location if visiting Cascais and has bikes for hire. You can park outside - paid parking, but free on a Sunday.

It is set in a quiet area of town, yet within walking distance of everything, The two pools (one for children) are set in delightful gardens, and the communal areas feel like being guests in someone's luxury home. Excellent choice of foods for breakfast and very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are spacious, very comfortable and individually decorated. I had a suite which included a separate kitchenette, and a delightful patio with sunlounges, table and chairs.
