Not recommendable
It’s not worth the price we paid, we booked for 11 person but the bed can only accommodate 10 person that my son end up sleeping on the floor , upstrair toilet floor is leaking down to the kitchen, we emailed the host on the first day but no reply til we check out, So we have to share the the down floor toilet, the hot tub is dirty that we end up cleaning for us to be able to use, dusty and loads of cubweds in one of the bedroom downstairs.

Holds a Special Memory
From booking to check-out, it has been a wonderful experience and we didn't want to leave! We're the "city" type of people so we had pre-arrival jitters. Dan, the host/owner, gave good instructions for arrival, and boy, what a fantastic stay it was!!It's a beautifully refurbished 1500's house (see the plaque at the house) with wifi, mains electric, heating, hot water, showers/toilets, modern cooker and under counter fridge.Want to reconnect to Mother Nature? This is YOUR retreat! Bring eco-friendly washing up liquid, toilet roll and shower gel as this runs into the ground water (toilets run into a septic tank). We made full use of the indian style Tipi, sleeping in at night and feeling close physically and spiritually to nature - comes with a wood burner. There's no TV, but won't be missed either We explored the local wood and foraged for twigs and branches to help with burning in the campfire and wood burning - axe is provided to chop your wood.We was a group of 9, adults and kids, so we got through alot of wood. You can bring your own, or Dan will provide a contact number for a local gentleman to deliver - and you get plenty for the cost! We paid 80 which provided a tonne bag, delivered to the "turnaround" spot. To power everything (Arga, Living Room fire place, hot tub, sauna, Tipi and Campfire) for 5 days, we needed 5 bags (brought ourselves) and the local delivery which left us with some spare logs for the next guests (you're welcome ).It's an absolutely beautiful house in an amazing hidden woodland. Please PLEASE, look after this house! Alot of love, sweat (literally), time and cost has gone into this. If you can't respect our environment, find a city hotel!Final Thoughts:- We came in a 17 seater minibus. Arrive in daylight hours.- Any vehicle larger than a family sized car, reverse up the access lane to drop off.- Pack light, or be prepared to make a couple of trips from the end of the lane up to the house (steep walk, so no high heels)! Access to the house is a walk up-hill. If you are heavily pregnant, mobility impaired, have problems breathing/severe heart conditions, it may be wise to seek other accommodation. However, the benefits of staying here far outweigh any negatives. Don't forget, it's easier to go down!- We will be coming back! - Pay attention to Dan's email welcome pack once paid.- Local wood delivery.- Away from civilisation - bliss!- Cart/wheel barrows provided - very useful!- WoRtH eVeRy PeNnY!

Hidden little gem!
We have just come back from 3 nights at mellow mountain and we all had a fantastic stay! Plenty to do for all ages, the children enjoyed it thoroughly. The hill is rather steep to get to the property but once you’re up there it is worth it. The property itself is ideal for family/group gatherings and equipped with everything you need. We used roughly 6 bags of woods between 9 of us, this heated the hot tub (took 6 hours), the sauna, camp fire, tipi and aga. Overall it was perfect and a bargain! Would definitely return.

Lovely getaway
Really enjoyed our time here. Very scenic and the house and facilities were great. Make sure you bring a lot of wood! (We needed more than we thought we would)

Mellow mountains
This property was peacefully located but still within a good distance to the local village. A lovely outside area made for some great evenings enjoying food and the woodlands around. The campfire was a big hit with the younger ones being able to toast marshmellows. All in all the cottage made for a relaxing break.

A real hidden gem
Here's what our group said; We were looking to get away from London and found Mellow Mountain to be the perfect hidden gem. The cottage is renovated to a high standard and you can star gaze through the conservatory roof or lie in bed and look at the moon through the skylights... the nature is amazing with Buzzards flying overhead and you can hear Owls at night. We were one of the first groups to try out the wood burning Sauna which is great as it heats up quicker than the hot tub and leaves you feeling fantastic. We will be returning in the Summer! --------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a beautiful part of Wales, the valleys and hills are stunning views from the cottage, the walks are great. Llangollen and Chirk are lovely; Pubs and shops not far away, you can walk to The Swan pub in 10 mins (take a torch though) good Wi-Fi... a retreat from daily life. You need to be reasonably fit to enjoy this place. Lots of things provided, little torches, cooking basics etc. The fire pit and tepee are great for kids and for being outside. The kids slept in the tepee and loved it. The price was really good for the number of people the site can hold. -------------------------------------------------------------------- 10 of us booked and what a fantastic weekend we had. The cottage was beautiful with great facilities for the group size and a wonderful setting. Secluded enough from the main village but close enough for a leisurely stroll to The Swan Inn (a lovely and very hospitable pub) and only 10 mins drive from Chirk where there's a great butchers, green grocers, bakers and Co-op etc. Fantastic views from the front terrace for morning coffees, a lovely camp fire area and the hot tub was a welcome treat for the end of the day. There's lovely walks in the area and one from the bottom of the drive. A fantastic find and excellent value for money. Dan (who we booked through) was really accommodating and helpful in the run up to our holiday aiding a weekend for 10 people to run very smoothly. Highly recommended, we'll certainly be booking again for another memorable weekend.
