Shocking experience tbh would not stay or recommend. Public areas seem very nice and high end. On check in there was an orderly queue but a guy pushed into the lady in front of us not queueing? When she challenged the receptionist was very rude to her and said “he’s not checking in” what difference that made I don’t know?! My partner observed this receptionist previously been pulled out of back office by a manager and after this she had a dreadful attitude. After a fair wait we finally got to get our room I had done on line check in. I specifically booked an accessible double room and the receptionist was perplexed she didn’t have one. Question having spent years in the industry why wasn’t this pre-allocated? I have periodic mobility issues so wanted a room easy to evacuate if necessary plus the main reason for our stay was I had undergone eye surgery in Harley Street that day. The room was below average when we got there a poorly renovated Travelodge standard M 0031 if it helps and it was freezing. I have under active thyroid so feel the cold terribly never mind what I had been through that day. Lights in the rooms didn’t appear to work in way they should it was all or nothing. We reported heating not working when we left for dinner and the receptionist said she’d send maintenance up. When we returned a few hours later there was a tiny/inadequate storage heater in the room and it was still cold. We both had an uncomfortable, disturbed nights sleep…

Great location, lovely staff, basic rooms.
Great location, lovely staff and the lobby was lovely. I would say the bedrooms are more 3 star quality than 4. Specifically with our room the toilet handle did not flush and the phone to ring reception did not work even when we plugged it in as was unplugged. Also cleaners knocked at our door at 8:30am asking to clean our room when checkout is not untill 11 and we hadn’t checked out.

Very enjoyable stay.
We stayed in the Copthorne Tara for three nights and were highly satisfied with the quality of service and friendliness of the staff. The hotel breakfast was excellent and the general level of comfort was impressive. Our bedroom on the 10th floor was quiet and spacious. The hotel is close to shops and restaurants and also a short walk to the Underground. Highly recommended.

Great Singaporean restaurant
The rooms were basic but clean. Breakfast is very busy. Hotel is very close to the underground also the No 9 bus is a great way to travel into central London. Highlight for us was Bugi’s the Singaporean restaurant. Great food. So good we went again for a second night.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel because of its convenient location, and it’s definitely convenient. Our room, (and I can only comment on our room, M07, others may have been better?), was noisy, not because of the train line outside (that was barely noticeable, and trains did not run all night), no, it was the constant low frequency drone from a generator or air on unit outside our window, this combined with the loud buzzing from the mini fridge meant that I got no or very little sleep, what’s the point of a hotel if you can’t get a night’s sleep? The fridge either needs balancing, replacing or removing from the wooden cabinet that it sits in (which acts like a sound box) in the end I switched it off, sadly I couldn’t do the same to the noise machine outside. As for breakfast, I asked for poached eggs and was informed that I would have to pay extra for them, please don’t tell me it’s to keep costs down, as other hotels manage to provide poached eggs on request. To add insult to injury, the fried eggs on the servery were solid and like plastic (Edwina Curry would have been delighted). Additionally, the plates were cold, such that on collecting my hot breakfast and plastic eggs from the servery, it was cold by the time I reached my table. (To be fair, the plates were warmer on the second morning). On collecting toast I asked for side plates only to be directed to the dinner plates. In all I’d describe this hotel as “Mutton done up as Lamb”.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel because of its convenient location. Our room (and I can only comment on our room, M07. Others may have been better?), was in need of a makeover. Fake tiles in the bathroom peeling and just a general weariness, although it was clean. The room was noisy, not because of the train line outside, that was hardly noticeable, but because of the constant low frequency droning of what appeared to be a generator or air con unit outside of our window (the double glazing failed to mitigate this, and combine that with the mini fridge that buzzed loudly, it either needs balancing, replacing or removing from the wooden cabinet that acts as a sound box, in the end I switched the fridge off. What’s the point of booking a hotel if you can’t get to sleep. As for breakfast, we asked for poached eggs and were told that we would have to pay extra, (please don’t tell me that this is to keep costs down, other hotels manage to provide poached eggs). On the first morning the plates were cold, such that once I had collected my hot breakfast from the servery it was cold by the time I reached my table.

The young lady at the front desk “Bellista” I believe is her name was extremely rude . Service in general was very poor . They won’t assist you at all. Only a couple people were welcoming and cordial from the staff we encountered. Breakfast was horrible , a buffet that was always empty and they wouldn’t fill it immediately. The location is probably the only positive thing about this hotel , you are close to the train station , restaurants, shopping , busses stops , coffee shops.
