A real treat on my birthday
We stayed one night as we were celebrating my birthday in London and staying at the Hilton London Brankside made it feel really special. The room was large, very clean and beautifully appointed. The bed was super comfortable and we had the surprise of finding it “turned out” with slippers and Good night paper mat by the side, when we got in after our celebrations. We found out the sound proofing was really good because there was a crying baby next door and only realised once in the corridor. I would very happily stay again and the location is very good too.

Rooms are ok, had a family connecting room. Front desk crew members are really always “in their own time world, no greetings nor a smile even when they are not attending to any guest. Except for 1 particular morning whereby we see some “big shots” around the hotel then suddenly their attitude towards guests walking in and out is full of smile and greetings Lounge service is really nothing fantastic for a 5-star hotel. Was here 4yrs ago, my husband and I had such a great time with the lounge crews that brings us back this time. But those crews are no longer around, the welcoming feelings are gone. The only service department worth mentioning is the concierge service. From the moment we step into the hotel, we were treated with warm welcome by Daniel. Even through out the stay he shows his hospitality genuinely. Another note worth mentioning is the whole team support in assisting us to rectify and ship back some items we left at the previous Hilton hotel. It was really hassle-free, great applause to the whole team. Breakfast was really not very worth mentioning, 4 days straight with same varieties of food can be kinda boring. At least other hotels visited still bothers to change 1-2 dishes everyday for the novelty.

Great location if you are travelling from Gatwick by train, near to 2xTube stations too. Great rooms, very clean and a really good size for a room in London. Sadly the the service in the hotel is officious and I was embarrassed by the Guest relations Manager in the middle of a busy dinning room over not having signed a form to partake of breakfast! If you decide to include breakfast on check in, make sure you sign the form to avoid a similar embarrassing incident. I’m staying in hotels on a weekly basis with work and lovely as this hotel is, the staff have delusions of grandeur above and beyond similarly graded priced hotels, I really feel this let’s the hotel down.

Our time here was pleasant the breakfast buffet was delicious and the bar served a delicious dinner. The only area of Improvement is the bed itself. The mattress was very firm and is a coiled bed. The pillows were also very flat and were uncomfortable especially after a long day being out sightseeing. Any movement on the bed at night could be heard with the coils in the mattress. Other than that very quiet and clean. We were on the 4th level.
