This could be an amazing updated old hotel with so many possibilities. They have been re-opened for two years, but painting shoddy and careless, carpet dirty, must smell on lower level, broken furniture and flowerpots pushed to side with dead flowers. Even if things not finished little things like flowerpots, hanging baskets clean outdoor patio with more tables and maybe umbrellas and a place for garbage and swept and wiped daily without customers having to ask would be nice. One day staff gentlemen was friendly, the rest were not. This once beautiful 1856 hotel has so much potential but we were very disappointed with what they have carelessly done. the neighborhood is gorgeous and this place just looks tired. The only upside was the bed was comfortable, thank goodness we had good weather because we did not want to be in our room and there was no where inside to relax. Great Notting Hill location
The location was amazing, just a few steps from the underground and not far from Portobello Market. Area was safe. The staff at the hotel were fabulous. They kept our luggage near the front desk while we were out all day and the went above and beyond and brought the luggage to our room. The room was small but comfortable. A little dated but had everything we needed. Quant and charming.

I am shattered!
TV didn’t work, no aircon, shower was handheld, alarm in next room started at 1am and didn’t stop….. The pictures completely oversell the accommodation.

Great location and room
Other than the door of the next room being a bit loud, the stay was great. Nice and helpful staff and great location. English charm rooms (feels like you’re in a special place not a super modern style in such a historic city). Also very quiet location. No road noise.

Lovely room and property. There was a big screw-up on Expedia’s part in NOT contacting me to tell me there would be no room available because of a plumbing issue with our room. Luckily we had a friend also staying there so the three of us shared his room. It was all handled SO VERY WELL by Aaron at the front desk who contacted Expedia for us and made arrangements for our full refund which we eventually received.
