While our check in process was pleasant and friendly, that was the only highlight. The hotel has an adorable theme and appeared to be at one point, clean and maintained. When heading to our room, you immediately smell an awful smell of fish and notice hanging air freshener disks hanging every few feet. When we entered our room, it too had the same unwelcoming scent. Our room appeared dated, not thoroughly clean and had leaking water on the bathroom floor from a towel warmer that didn't work. The bed was comfortable enough, but the room was so hot and stuffy. We opened the windows which opened ou to an abandoned lot with trash and weeds. I honestly think we could have overlooked all of the above, although we shouldn't need to. The most unsettling part of our visit is when we went down to the hotel restaurant/pub for dinner and cocktails. There were several employees busy decorating for a birthday party in the establishment. We sat ourselves after standing at the entrance for several minutes. We waited another 10-15 minutes at our table, and still no one. We watched another family of four get up from their table and leave. My husband finally went up to the bar and enquired about service. Victoria, the young lady at the bar, appeared put out and very concerned about continuing her party preparations.
