Reasonably priced (for London) stay in a fairly small room. Bathroom great, but hot was cold and cold was hot on the sink tap and shower. Not the worst thing in the world, but a bit annoying. Staff very friendly and helpful

Great hotel in a good location, close to tube and bus. One of the windows in our room didn't close fully but this was the only negative of our stay

Honestly, this was a low budget trip I went on with my best friend so we weren’t expecting much and planned to be out all day but we were pleasantly surprised!!! You walk through the front reception and you’re met with a very beautiful and sleek lobby area that makes you feel like you should have spent way more on the rooms. While the room itself was a little more old school and slightly outdated visually it has literally anything and everything you’d need, and don’t get me started on the in house bar and restaurant called “The Atrium”, it was brilliant with some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had (the yellow submarine) and a beautiful and elegant interior. The staff are also so kind and speak to you in such a welcoming manner that you would literally have no trouble asking questions. All around this hotel was perfect and I had a great stay

Clean and tidy room, and facilities were good. The bar was great in the evening, very nice atmosphere. Breakfast was fairly good (very similar to a Premier Inn style breakfast), for the cost in central London it was incredibly good value for money.

The room wasn’t the cleanest, the reception staff were lovely and friendly, and the main areas were nice. I booked a single room and the room itself was very basic and the carpet had a big build up of dust on it. The bathroom was new so not bad at all, but the bedroom area felt unclean by comparison.

Everything was great except the construction going on behind/next to hotel. If you get a room facing the back you will be hearing construction noisy starting early. Impossible to sleep in.

The rooms are extremely small, my wife and I with two suitcases did not fit in the room and the bed is not double, but rather full size, everything in the room is difficult to do due to its small space, I would not recommend it to anyone, it is even small for a single person.

They don’t take Amex, or cash. Breakfast doesn’t start till 7 so if you are on an early flight that’s a problem. The hotel is in easy walk of Russel Square tube which is really nice. It’s also a place where the Beatles stayed.

Aging hotel with basic service but value for money
The President gives the impression of once being a luxury hotel but it has clearly seen better days. That does mean that the rooms are value for money. Their check-in procedures need an overhaul. It's a bit silly to have booked a hotel through hotels.com and provided all the necessary information and then be given a paper form to fill out by hand during check-in. This makes the whole process slow and results in long queues at check-in. I tried to check in a little before noon. They had no rooms available, which is understandable. They seem to have had a lot of people arriving before check-in time. Hotels that have this problem really need to set up some place with some privacy for people that need to perhaps change clothes or transfer things between bags before leaving their luggage.

My first impression of the hotel was not a good one because of the check in experience I had. I got to the hotel at 9am because of my early flight and honestly i was quite exhausted cos of the long flight from Australia. I went to the reception with my passport presented and said that I'd like to check in, however, the male staff member responded, 'You would like to check in but it's too early for that, check in time is 2pm.' He subsequently pushed the passport back towards me and honestly I was shocked by the response. Maybe the process is different from what we do in Australia I guess. No checking in the system at all nor offer kindly if they would like their luggage stored somewhere and I had to ask for it myself and after handing my suitcase to another staff I got this sort of keycard back without a word or explanation. As a former front office manager, I found this all very appaling. After killing 5 hours wandering around in London, I came back to check in. This time the receptionist was much nicer and welcoming. She gave me directions on the lifts and restaurant and everything was explained succinctly The room was sufficient for a solo traveller. Apart from the heating being way too much for me, I couldnt fault anything else. The highlight of my stay is breakfast at the restaurant. The team was excellent and i would like to give my special thanks to Esnico, Fabiola and Adriana. They made me feel so welcome and turned my impression of the hotel around. THANK YOU!!!!!!
