My husband and our pups had a wonderful vacation and enjoyed our stay at the Riverview House! The deck is 100% amazing and seeing riverboats, barges, party boats and even 3 eagles was great! The house is a little small, but we spent most of the time outdoors anyway. Great spot!
Recent good reviews were not accurate. I expected quirky but not shabby. Under remodeling with paint pealing in entrance and all outside walls. Painting supplies and other materials in the entryway. Dirty windows. Understocked kitchen. Wouldn't sit on couches- they would not be accepted at Goodwill. Deck was marvelous but without a tree needs an umbrella, Needed to clean the deck of leaves on arrival with an inadequate broom. Second day someone used a leaf blower very early in the morning. Tried to contact the owner but got no response. Too much money for what we received.
Nestled on the Ohio River in a quiet neighborhood close to Louisville (about 20 minutes). Pet friendly. Clean. Nice kitchen with appliances like a Keurig coffee machine, regular coffee pot, air fryer, and blender. Beds were not the most comfortable and neither was the furniture. Great shower! The yard needs attention. Looks like it went through a storm!
We stayed at the house for two nights while in town for a horse show. We had an amazing time and the house was perfect for us. The house had everything we needed and we really enjoyed the deck out back with the small fire pit and view of the river! Overall an awesome house.
Right on the river, great view. Convenient to the city, about 20 minutes. Front porch(first impression) needs some workâŠ. Lots of empty boxes, used AC filters, and ant bait sprinkled everywhere. Door hinges also broken. An easy cleanup to prevent a bad first impression. Comfy beds, clean interior rooms. Just needs some TLC on the outside. Would stay there again though.
The view was great. House needed swept. It would be good to have a broom and dust pan incase of a mess and some cleaning supplies. The floor needs addressed with dips in the floor causing the wood flooring to crack in several places. Cynder blocks to hold up the couch was not appealing.
Front entrance smells horrible. Inside house was nice. The back yard could be nice if deck area was swept and there was cleared access (have to walk though overgrown weeds) to the nice dock.
I couldnât give it five stars, itâs like 4.5.
Pros -
Quiet neighborhood
Beautiful view of the lake
Deck and a dock to hang out on
Inside is very clean
Bathroom and shower is just as shown
Beds are comfortable, towels are fluffy
Kitchen is stocked well with most things you need
Cons -
The front entrance is rough and smelly. The smell though doesnât go into the house.
The cushions for the deck furniture was sitting in a container that had water in it. We set them out for a day and let the sun take care of that.
Side note - this place is secluded and takes you off the beaten path. Depending on who you are this is a really good thing or something to avoid.
Overall excellent stay. Glad we did.
We had a great time during our stay. Our entourage included my husband and I, 3 teenagers plus 2 large dogs. It was the perfect size for sleeping, but a little tight for hanging out unless you hang out outside on the hige deck over the river. The furniture is college dorm style, but works for the purposes we needed. All in all it is a cute little house and a great location.
The home was clean and better furnished than a lot of places we have stayed. When I reached out to the owners they responded promptly. The neighborhood was awesome.
We enjoyed our stay at the River house!! We were in Louisville for a Family get together. The views from the deck were beautiful. Too bad the weather wasn't warmer so we could spend more time on the deck! We didn't spend much time at the River house, since we were there for a Family get together. It was perfect for my Husband, myself and our dog!!
We came to town for a family reunion- my aunt and uncle live about 8 minutes from this property, so we really didn't stay in the house often. Just there to sleep and shower, basically. I will say that this place works well for the basics! A clean place to stay, ample parking, with a kitchen and bathroom. I should also note some feedback for improvement- the couches and chairs in the living/dining space all had stains of some sort. Possibly food? There were no throw blankets which made the living room less cozy and inviting (especially because we were there when it was really cold in the mornings and I wanted to enjoy a hot tea on the couch while waking up). The back door didn't lock fully- the alarm on the wall kept saying it wasn't locked. Both fire alarms were beeping when we entered so we had to take out the batteries to keep them from chirping. There was no hand soap in the bathroom, so I borrowed some from my aunt. I think I'd stay here again if I needed to, but I'd have to come prepared with extras to make it more comfortable for me, personally.
It was an absolutely beautiful stay from the beginning to end! Neighbors were ever so kind to let us use their dock! I absolutely love that yâall had washer and dryers I hate leaving places not how they were when we got there so truly that helped a ton! Thank you for the stay!
This freshly remodeled home right on the river was perfect for our three night stay. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. Weâve always been wildly active on vacation but are learning to relax. Watching the river from the brand new deck helped slow us down in a good way. The host was very communicative and helpful with any questions. I was hesitant bc of small number of reviews bc itâs new to the rental market, but took a leap of faith and it worked out well!
