What a great place to stay. The pictures on the website were exactly as shown. Spacious brand new apartments. Very clean, quiet and safe. Nice big comfortable bed, hot water for the shower, laundry soap, coffee/tea, sugar provided. Good wifi. Grocery store right next to the building. Atocha train station is a 15 minute walk. Lots of stores and resturants near by. David the manager was very nice and helpful. Highly recommend staying here.

I knew Sonder hotels from New York and the room itself didn’t disappoint. Clean and spacious room with all the comfort you need the bedding is great! However outside of the property you’re on a big street so a lot of noise from the traffic. Also i have been to Madrid several times before and this area is not great. The neighborhood didn’t feel safe it’s not walking distance from main touristic places but you have buses, accessible metro or uber. Despite my great experiences with Sonder hotels i won’t return to that specific location.

Nice room. New and clean with kitchenette. However, the booking process was not easy as this property has no front desk or staff on site. Had to download their custom app and go through a lengthy identification process. The on-site luggage lockers that they advertised were broken so I paid 20 euros to be able to check in an hour early. (I had wished they would have refunded me that after we had spent an hour standing outside on our first night when the faulty fire alarm went off) There is no housekeeping and the common supply cabinet was not well stocked. After I requested additional coffee pods through their app, they said they would check the supplies the next day and asked if I wanted directions to a coffee shop. It's a nice facility if you are willing to go through the hassle but I would prefer better service.

I found the lack of a 24 hour personal presence a bit different as we would normally stay in a hotel or B&B but there were staff around during the day who were approachable. Everything was very clean and the apartment was well fitted. More coffee and tea would have been good though so the small things that you get in a hotel were lacking. The area though was central and we walked most places La Latina, the museums and galleries, El Retiro and the Botanical gardens. We had a glitch when the main front door wouldn’t open and we were all stuck inside for 45 mins but the lady who came to help was reasonably quick to us and did her best. The maintenance crew were less than speedy though and we ended up using the step ladder ourselves! Overall I would recommend it for longer stays, for myself on a short stay I think I would go back to a hotel.

The location is perfect for experiencing the culture of Spain. Walk to El Prado and Reina Sofia. Easy metro access to El Palacio Real and many other spots. It's bustling with city life, so make sure that's your thing before you book. The room is stocked well and very clean. Really enjoyed my stay.

We liked the young woman who acted as concierge. Without her the stay would have been more difficult. We did not understand the codes in the washer dryer….cou k d have been a disaster!! The space is well thought out…. Wonderful shower

We love our stay at Sonder Sofia! The design of the apartment was on point, and everything was really clean. This is our second time staying at Sonder, and this experience surpass all expectations. Although there is not reception, the team is always available and willing to help. They are also extremely nice and approachable. Its blocks away from Reina Sofía and a short walk to Achota station. Highlighly recommend.
