A very uncomfortable night
Room cold did not warm up all night. ( I did not contact reception during the night as I was hoping it would warm up, but didn't. At 5:30 am I got up and ran a hot bath, my feet were freezing. That did warm me up. I then got dressed gad a hot drink and checked out shortly after 7am advising the reception of how cold my room was and asked them to take the temperature in there and resolve the issue for the next guest. All that was said was that I should have reported it during the night. But as I only arrived midnight and went to my room at1am. I was hoping it would warm up or I could get warm under the quilt. The most terrible night ever spent in a hotel. I was only at the hotel 7 hrs Don't think it should be a 4 star. The room had been refurbished but the public areas are looking tired Other comments:- No water in the room, as advised on check in no usb ports to plug into In the refurbished room? Plastic glasses, hence the poor environmental marking No free shuttle to hire car station. £4 taxi fare Would gave expected a hotel of this calibre to have a complimentary shuttle service this short distance m but to far to walk with luggage

My stay at the hotel was good, lovely room, I liked coffee tray with biscuits, mints and water. I expected free transfer from railway station and to the airport the next morning. I’ve stay at this hotel many times and didn’t realise the bus pick up had changed and I was left at the station couldn’t get in touch with hotel and hitched a lift on Clayton’s bus. Then had to pay to go to airport on the morning. This needs to be highlighted and it also makes stay a little more expensive.

At first glance the property looks appealing, but you quickly realise it’s not quite what you paid for. The “renovation” includes a lot of shoddy workmanship. Our room had a door in the corner that led to nowhere but a door behind it, which turned out to be the room next door. Honestly, it’s quite unpleasant laying in bed with someone turning the handle like they’re trying to get into your room next to you. Not only that, but we could hear everything they were saying late at night. The food is also is quite expensive, which would be fine but the quality far from matches it. We were told to make sure we made a reservation, only to find a half empty restaurant. Once the food came we realised we’d make a mistake, everything was over cooked and of poor quality. These are just the two major letdowns, but to keep it short I’ll leave it at that.
