I stay in many hotels and have never experienced such poor standards Reception took all his time to acknowledge my presence and was really unhelpful Although a late booking heating had not been switched on prior my arrival so was very cold in the room I always check reviews and can only assume these were done by family and friends as the expectations I had were nowhere near met I checked out at 8.30 in the evening as despite my complaints the reception didn’t seem to care whether I stayed or not I cannot beleive that an establishment can treat customers this way In summary RUDE DIRTY COLD UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE DO NOT STAY THERE I would like reimbursed for this if this can be arranged

We found the accomadation excellent and the staff could not do enough to ensure we had a good stay. The bar was very friendly and a good selection of beverages were available. We will definatley stay at Forest Lodge again

Please ask about the room you reserve. Room C4 is only for people who want a twin bed in 2 rooms. You must be able to maneuver stairs and a step up shower and toilet in a very small bathroom. The noise level is high due to location outside of commons area and parking lot.

Lovely old character building
This is my second stay recently.Clean rooms with modern bathrooms, friendly atmosphere & staff really helpful. Excellent freshly cooked food. Zorro the black lab is a real character too. Booked again for my next stay.

We really enjoyed this vintage pub with cosy, modern rooms upstairs in Robin Hood’s backyard. Taking daughter to uni in Nottingham so this was an ideal stop. The kitchen was closing at 8 so we arrived just in time to grab a tasty bite from extensive menu. A bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich on crusty bread was washed down with a couple of draught beers while watching the Champions League along with the bar’s friendly lab. Triple room nicely decorated was ideal for us with power shower and good night’s sleep. Window onto street but didn't notice traffic noise. Can’t say I’ve had a fire grate in a bathroom before but along with the wooden vaulted ceilings in the dining room, it showed the inn’s character. Eggs Benedict and all sorts of other al la carte breakfast was tasty. Much better value than bland hotel chains. Will be back if in area again.
