We really loved the Owl’s Nest property. Everything was very well thought out. The interior was artistic, tasteful and very comfortable. Throw blankets, pillows, books and games were nice extras. We appreciated all the finer touches like the tile in the bathroom, artwork and the reclaimed barnwood accent wall behind the couch. The kitchen was equipped with every modern convenience-nice utensils, pots and pans and dishes. So nice that the host left a bottle of wine for us and that coffee, tea and spices were supplied! Everything was very clean.
Though the bathroom and kitchen were small, all decor and appliances were arranged in a way that gave enough room to move freely.
The linens and towels were ample and soft, the mattresses very comfortable. There were motion detector lights that made it easy to enter and exit in the dark.
There were definitely a lot of wineries close by (within 5 to 15 minutes) and some nice restaurants within 15 minutes or further out around a half hour. Beacon was about a half hour away and Hyde Park around 45 minutes . A map of the property showed that there were hiking trails basically right outside the door. For us it was a little too buggy to hang outside or hike out in the woods at this time of year, but others might not find it so.
The driveway is gravel and was a bit muddy after the rain. If planning to wear heels to a nice restaurant, etc. bring sneakers or low heels and switch out.
This is a really pretty, woodsy property with a great two bedroom cottage, a little off the beaten path, with a cozy modern rustic, comfortable interior, privacy and beautiful scenery..A nice relaxing getaway that could include hiking, wineries, dining, Hudson valley towns, historical sights, etc.
We would like to come back in the Faal.
