Rose Cottage had a small fridge but it was generously stocked for breakfast items for the 6 nights of our stay. Location is good. There was pet hair and pet odour on the sofa which we cleaned. The pillow protectors and pillows were stained and not very comfortable. Spa was good. Television was very small and not all channels could be received due to its age. An extra towel rail in the bathroom would have been handy given extra towels used for the spa and for swimming nearby. Rose Cottage would be better suited for a 1-2 night stay as opposed to the 6 nights we spent. For a longer stay perhaps one of the other cottages would be better suited. Nevertheless, we had a relaxing time in the area and generally enjoyed our stay.
Cottage was very old world, country style. Stone and wood cladding, exposed beams, slate tiling. Basic cooking (hot plate, microwave) facilities and crockery/cutlery. The real charm of the cottage is the setting (think rainforest with streams outside your door and the sound of water to send you to sleep) and the home touches and internal furnishings.
Rang the day before and asked for the spa to be set arrived opened spa up to find it set at 34. The front door handle was just about to fall off and there was 4 tiny bits of wood and 1 half burnt poor excuse for a log. Looks like the only money they have spent in quite sometime is for the key safe will not be going back and definitely won’t recommend it anyone.
We stayed in the Water room for the past two nights. For the amount of money we paid i was disgusted.
The room is tiny, no where to put belongings except on a filthy stone floor which claimed to be heated but was not. The bed was not Queen as advertised but a very uncomfortable double for my 6'2 husband.
The rooms were covered in cobwebs and dust. Furnishings old, worn & dusty.
The bathroom fan is thick with dust making the rooms smell like burning dust.
We washed spa before we used it, flushing out jets but were still stting among clumps of slimy matter.
Bath towels are cheap and well worn.
Long life milk was 3 months past use by. I spent 2nd day feeling very unwell.
Utensils, frypan etc had seen better days. Everything old and worn
Apart from a waterfall outside the room is actually decorated in a very tacky egyptian theme.
Not sure who gave this place a 5 star rating but its way off the mark.
Do yourself a favour and give this place a miss. I can think of better ways to spend over $600.00
We stayed at the Green room. Such a wonderful and amazing place! Such a cozy, private and beautiful place, we enjoyed the entire weekend there and it was so relaxing.
The host has thought of everything and communication was fantastic!
We are looking at going back at staying in another room.
Thank you so much.
Such a tranquil little cottage with perfect facilities and slate floor heating. Beautiful chocolates and breakie provided and lovely waterfall. So close to all the beautiful places Warburton brings including the redwood forest and healsville, Chocoleterie, Donna buang lookout. Loved our honeymoon stay.

Desperately in need of tender loving care
A friend told be about the property about 30 years ago and I have always wanted to go. We stayed in the Rose cottage. Its disappointing that the cottage is now run down and still commanding a high price per night to stay. The rose cottage is run down and requires some love and care put back into the property. The cottage is set out nicely but requires attention to maintenance and updating. You can get nicer accommodation and surroundings for the same price at Daylesford, Yarra Valley or the Dandenongs. Very disappointing.
Although the cottages are only a few minutes out of Warburton, they are very secluded. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two nights in the Rose Cottage. If you are looking for a romantic getaway I would highly recommend Forget Me Not Cottages.
It was a nice experience. Although someone left fridge on high so breakfast supplies were frozen. Lovely location.

We stayed here 2 years ago in the green room and it was wonderful, now the garden looks run down and the spa was luke warm, didnt warm up either the thermostat has been set low or theres a problem with the spa. Still a nice place. But a bit dissapointed.
The room was nice and cosy, very dark and rather old, though. The rooms and kitchen area was fully equipped. It was not a cottage but a single apartment in a bigger house and a little less privacy than expected. The room was very much smaller than on the pictures.
We stayed for only one night and unfortunately the power went off at 5am in the morning and we were left without breakfast (there was bread, bacon, eggs, milk and jam ind the fridge and a coffee machine) due to lack off power. After calling in to ask for help with electricity, we have only been given a other number to call and ask them to fix it ourselves. We weren't happy with that.
It became very noisy at around 10am due to people cleaning around the house.
Surrounding area was nice, though. A shop for groceries and small restaurants available in Warburton, too.
Our stay was comfortable - the breakfast provisions in the fridge were wonderful but the cooking facilities didn't lend themselves to cooking breakfast very easy.
We had to put the toaster in the bathroom so we could have hot toast with our bacon and eggs which we cooked in two batches.
The coffee was superb - due to the very up market coffee machine.
The bed was fantastic! So very comfortable.
The general layout of the room was fine though perhaps they could give a bit of thought of where the couch is positioned in relation to the TV...
Generally a great place to stay.
I would strongly suggest they review the instructions for gaining access to the key... you need to put in the code, pull down the little lever and pull out the grey section of the key box from the top. You'll understand if you ever have to do this :-)
