Location is great, communication is great, including letting us know there's no housekeeping on weekends, but property and furniture needs upgrading. Mattresses and lounges have no support and very uncomfortable, every step is accompanied by loud creaking that you also know your neighbours every move and the carpet in hallways is so loose it's a trip hazard.

We arrived very late at night, just after midnight and were given a room on the 1st floor. It was very loud with people yelling and talking on the street, it felt like they were in the room with us. Then at 5.30am, we were woken to the sound of all the cafes in the street moving chairs and tables etc. it was the sound of metal dragging on concrete and continued for about an hour! We only got about 4 hours sleep. We decided to check out and move to another hotel! The lady on reception was very nice about it, but we just couldn’t stay there.

Comfortable stay in good location
A comfortable stay and friendly staff. It is an old building that has been refurbished. The hot water system was a bit problematic in the shower going really hot then cold. Some of the furnishings could be upgraded. The lounge was a sofa bed and was uncomfortable.

Great stay as always. Fab location, friendly staff, always clean. The room needs a little TLC. The coat hook in the bathroom fell off the door and i thought the fan in the oven was about to take off and self destruct. The noise was excrucating.

Stayed for 6 nights. Could not sleep for 2 nights, as they cleaned the walls & windows with jetspray, cleaners banging their feet hanging from ropes. Shocking 1st night as no warning. Hotel provided earplugs for next night. Should have not have taken any bookings for those nights. Booked for convenient location close to trams & Flinders St station. Very lively area with the cafes of Degreaves St on doorstep. Accommodation is dated but spacious & clean, building is very old with uneven floor. We got upgraded to 1 bedroom apartment on the street side, noisy at night from bars, street & garbage cleaning and window cleaning. Studio at the back was probably better.

It was nice and central which was great, the room itself was rather old. The floors creaked which would wake a sleeping person, the shower tap was difficult whereby it kept running cold water and had to be at the perfect spot and only by chance to get hot water, there was no fan in the bathroom to help free any toilet odours, there was no soap or hand wash provided for hand hygiene which is a necessity. I wouldnt stay here again.
