We stayed at the hotel for six days and it was wonderful. The location is absolutely ideal if you are planning to visit all the downtown area of the zocolo, alemeda, belles artes and the great restaurants and museums in the area. The staff if amazing. Incredibly helpful, friendly and always available! The rooms are very comfortable., very clean and a wonderful shower! I highly recommend.

I found the property lovely, just like the pictures. At first I was disappointed to not have a balcony room; however, having an inside room was GREAT…no noise pollution, no disturbing light. Just quiet dark sleep on quality linens, comfy temps, good pillows. Room was large, well appointed. Excellent coffee. Only negative: left a small ring, inquired but didn’t hear back. Restaurant was very good for the one breakfast I ate there. Wish I’d known I could access from front instead of maneuvering steep stairs. Patio furniture on rooftop, would have been wonderful to sit out. Overall, 9.5 out of 10.0. Staff was great!!! Definitely would like to return. Loved the central location to so many walkable places. Convenient to a pharmacy, 7-11, restaurants.

Great location within walking distance to Bellas Artes theatre , shopping, dining and night life. The rooms and hallway looked exactly like photos in description , they are very nice , everything looked new and was very clean.

This hotel is a very cute boutique hotel. I stayed in the room with a balcony that had a view to the street which was nice. The hotel was very clean my room was comfortable. However the staff was very unprofessional. When I was trying to check out I had to wait for them to check my room. They even checked my dirty towels for stains. They got mad because I left some flowers in the room I could not take them to the airport.

The rooms where fairly modern but the rooms smelt very bad, we booked two king rooms, our room smelt so bad we couldn’t be in it, we couldn’t move rooms as they said there wasn’t any available (not sure that was true) and they kept pouring chemicals down the drains to help solve the smell which gave a temporary reprieve. When also complaining they offered a free breakfast. When at the front desk complaining other guests also where saying their rooms where smelly, the smell was so bad when leaving all our clothes and belongings smell of sewage and we’ve had to use laundry and dry cleaning at a high cost.

Mexico City's New Hidden Gem in Centro Historico

A friend stayed at Hotel Bellas Artes about a month ago and recommended the hotel to me. I had reservations at the Zocalo Central, but I changed it and I'm glad I did. I was very surprised with the modern updates to this historic building. The rooms vary in size. Ours was small, but we had enough space. The rooms were nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. You may want to consider ear plugs if you are a light sleeper and have a room facing the street. It didnt bother us, but I know some people are light sleepers. The hotel has a terrace with lots of potential in the future. I hope they do something amazing up there. My only complaint was around communication before my arrival. The day before I arrive I received an email from the hotel stating they would send me an email with a link so I can secure my stay with a deposit of one night only. This was strange because I've never had to do this before, but I said ok. The email never came and was nervous because I didnt know what to expect when I arrived. However, I initiated a call to the hotel where I spoke with someone at the front desk who ensured there was no problem with not having the deposit ahead of time. If there is one thing I would change about my experience is this because the last thing a traveler wants to deal with is broken communication with the hotel and not knowing if you will have a room or not upon arrival. The hotel restaurant was also really nicely renovated and the food was very good.
