Nice hotel in a great location with great staff
Stayed 2 nights to break up my long trip. I arrived at the hotel from the airport via Uber but looks like it's easily reachable by public transit - if you don't mind longer commute and don't have lot of luggage. I did take the tram to the beautiful Amtrak train station after checkout and was super convenient. The receptionist was super friendly and even found a room ready for me before check in time. I got a corner room so could see the cathedral outside, tram line, and the capital building in the near distance. Being a historic building, it was beautifully preserved. The bathroom was modern. The room itself could use bit more storage/shelf space. The chair in front of the desk was too short and not-adjustable so had to use pillow. The digital tipping was great since it's always struggle to remember to get change or cash. Breakfast was a bit better than the standard moderate-budget hotel chain style. Included in the room rate so was a good value. Wish there was a more eco-friendly practices - plates/cups/cutlery are all disposable - but after being out of the country for 8 months, remembering how U.S. lodgings are not up to the part on sustainability as other parts of the world. And most don't have kettle. All in all, it's one of the best experiences for lodging in U.S.

I never write a review for places but Celeste deserves it. The hotel is such a beautiful and clean, renovated place to stay. I highly highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay will, definitely stay again if I have the chance to do so!!

The Celeste is a beautiful old old place with lots of charm. The renovation was a successful one, offering modern bathrooms, fireplaces, wifi, and televisions didn't interfere with the history and aura of the building. We felt comfortable and safe. The staff was pleasant and courteous. When we shared a couple minor issues with our room (lightbulbs burnt out and a wall hook pulled loose), the front desk host assured us they'd be remedied for the next guest. The religious decor was a respectful and at times playful nod to the building's past as a convent, it didn't feel forced and was so much more interesting than the same old mass produced abstract and landscape prints. Was very nice (less stressful) to park once and walk to the Xcel Center and dinner. I'd happily stay again.

Love this Place !!! Quaint little bar, nice Breakfast Buffet. Very clean atmosphere and Staff was helpful and friendly. Parking was an ease at World Trade Parking Ramp directly behind Hotel. Prefect walking distance for night out at the Xcel.

First time staying there. Was reasonable for price. Decent breakfast. Only street parking however there was a parking ramp 1/2 a block away for only $10.50. Loved it was a repurposed building (former convent converted to a hotel). Walking distance to Xel for a concert.

Hotel Celeste is heavenly :)
I stumbled upon Hotel Celeste a couple years ago and loved it so much that it is my "go to" when I am in St. Paul. I look forward to the combination of quiet and elegance that Celeste offers. I especially enjoy the breakfast area. It is a lovely way to start the day.

The Celeste is a beautiful hotel! This was our second time staying here. There is lots to do walking distance, and there is a parking ramp right next door. The hotel has fantastic amenities and is visually stunning. It has a nice bar in the lobby. Expedia accidently didn't book us two rooms, even after confirming two rooms. When arriving at the property, they nicely upraded us to a suite for the same price, as suites were all that were left. Great customer service! Would return! Comfortable beds and all around great place!

I love this hotel, have stayed here multiple times and have nothing but great things to say about it. The area surrounding the hotel is not for the faint of heart though. Be prepared for a look into the inner city of St Paul that might not be what you’re expecting.
