After a long day on the road, we arrived to find the dining room closed. We were informed that it would be closed the next morning due to a community event. We asked if there was water or coffee available and were told no. We rented two rooms. One room found found an 'unmentionable item' under the bed. Another room had twin beds with absolutely flat pillows. One bed had the head board slanted down so I had to sleep with my head at the foot of the bed. The clawfoot bathtub had peeling paint on the bottom so we had to watch our footing to not get slivers.
The property setting was very peaceful with gardens. The house is is very full of antiques and history.
The Inn has been kept as the original structure but so beautifully decorated and felt very homey. My suitcase was carried upstairs for me and they even offered me a bowl of seafood chowder and dinner roll when the kitchen was closed. Very cozy Inn and amazing staff! I will definitely recommend this Inn!
I very much enjoyed my stay at the Marshlands Inn. It has the feel of a quirky BnB, a very unique and historic experience! I enjoyed conversations with the host, walks in the lovely garden, and how close in walking distance the downtown of Sackville. I will visit again.
Frustrating as Expedia booked a room with Queen and a second bed, hotel only had a room with queen. Only offered solution was a second room at a discounted rate. Beware if you book with Expedia call the site to confirm you get what you need.
Staying here was a treat to experience the splendour of a historic luxury inn conveniently located in downtown area.Unique rooms decorated with lovely antiques throughout the home. Breakfast is extra but in a beautiful dining room.
First of all its summer time and the AC was not working in the room it was getting tripped again and again after every 2 minutes.
Bed was quite old i guess bcoz of which there was a lot of creaking sounds.
No Tv in the room
No microwave in the room
Bathtub was so small that a person could hardly stand in that to bath
Very congusted parking space as compared to number of rooms they are renting.
Overall not at all a good experience.
The owner and staff were warm and friendly, the inn charming and the meals superlative, with seafood crepes stuffed with mussels, scallops and shrimps in a creamy sauce and a breakfast of freshly prepared fruit and homemade bread and homemade jam.
It’s a beautiful old house that is gorgeous inside. If you stay keep in mind the wifi comes and goes (not helpful when trying to plan trips during relax time). Take ear plugs because this is an old house you hear everything.
If you eat there, give yourself lots of time. Dinner will take over an hour and breakfast could take just as long.
Lovely historic property, close to lovely conservation area for walking. Beautiful dining room, well maintained. Helpful friendly staff. Eclectic collection of artifacts. External building and grounds could use some work.
The stay here was not just a place to sleep, it was an experience. The history that they have kept alive was very awesome. The dinner was one of the best we have experienced in a very long time and at a very fair prices. It was also one of the best values in the maritimes that we experienced.
