Perfect location and place.
This is an amazing location and city. You have everything within walking distance and this hotel is very well located near it all. Great staff that were very helpful. You don’t need a car, we left our’s in the parking garage 1 km away. Great breakfast in the morning as well.

Lovely and isolated place 20km away from Ronda
Highly recommendable rural accommodation. Pet friendly, quiet with a beautiful scenery and excellent food, but don't try the house wine, go for Jorge Bonet.

Traditional Spanish finca
El Horcajo is situated at the end of a long windy private road, which means that while you are there, you feel like you are far from it all. In reality, the location is very convenient if you want to visit Ronda and some of the Pueblos Blancos such as Grazalema. We arrived after driving through a huge thunderstorm and were relieved to be greeted by the friendly staff, who gave us lots of information about the area (including walks directly from the hotel) as well as about the dining option at the hotel. Our room and bathroom were large with nice views of the countryside. The furniture is simple and traditional, fitting well with the countryside setting. The beds were very comfortable. Dinner at the hotel was simple with a choice of salad or soup to start, a meat or a fish main, with fruit or crème caramel for dessert. It's a shame that the weather wasn't good enough for us to try the swimming pool (which looked very inviting).

Rustic Getaway Close to Ronda
Spent two nights here. Hotel is nestled in a beautiful mountain valley about 10 miles from Ronda, Spain. Sheep roam the nearby hills. All kinds of birds on the property and they greet you with lots of sounds in the morning. Wonderful dinners served on premise. Skimpy breakfasts. Delightful pool. Rustic setting. Old style architecture with wood and adobe. Very nice change of pace from city hotels.

In the middle of nowhere
One of the worst hotels I have ever staying at - so bad I left after only one night, very shabby, 16 miles from Ronda town centre (not the few K that they say) I could hear very single noise from the next door room, which when they run a bath reached 69 Db's. The driveway from the main road is 3 Km of rough twisty badly maintained road - 1st gear & lots of concentration to to drive in & out.

No horses here :(
The staff were very friendly. The rooms were really different - very cool place to stay. Lots of space in the room with steps leading upstairs to the 2 single beds. I was very disappointed in the fact that there were no horses there. This was one of the main reasons for booking our stay. There is local horse riding available but no actual horses on site which is deceiving with the photo advertised of the hotel. This would be my only complaint.

Beautiful "Hotel"
This "hotel" was wonderful, it was like being in a B&B of sorts. We stayed with our 2 children ages 10 & 12 and the room was perfect. There was a queen bed on the main floor and 2 twin beds in the loft area above. It is beautifully situated in a valley with rolling hills and very quiet surroundings. I love the old farmhouse style and our hosts were very friendly and helped us to book horseback riding tours and find the nearby towns for food (it is a very small family run establishment and there was no kitchen open on the evening we arrived). It is not difficult to find but is tucked away and off the beaten path. I would stay again.

Hidden gem
Lovely rustic old farmhouse in middle of nowhere if you want peace and quiet it's perfect. Beds are ok , bathroom has everything you need clean towels etc, no fridge in room though, swimming pool was not forking whilst there but is lovely area. Fire in lounge , all very cosy. Breakfast was ok cold choice of cheese, salami, bread , cereal, yogurts, juice. Bar was good and not expensive. Owners very welcoming and kind. Step back in time at this place and relax on your little patio it will never be busy here only few rooms to let. Just a warning though it is advertised near Ronda but it's far north and difficult to find. Def do not arrive in the dark. Signposted on A374 North of Ronda. A little gem if you can find it

Above expectation - wonderful!!!
*Above expectation. *Beautiful little room with all we needed and a private patio outside the back door. The room was more like a little terraced cottage and was tastfully decorated etc. *Everything was clean. *Check in was easy, with an english speaking receptionist. *Breakfast was amazing - as much as you like from a varied buffet type layout. *The views were spectacular. *The only noise we could here were the goats bells in the morning - we have never slept in such a peaceful place! *We only stayed one night but i left regretful that we werent staying for longer. You could easily stay a week. Highly recommended by us very happy british couple.

Rustic Charmer
The location was unreal! The hotel is in a valley surrounded by sheep, and we got stuck on the road in by bulls on the road which was neat! (But don't worry, the hotel is gated so the animals can't come in!) Dinners were pleasant, rustic but home-cooked and inexpensive. Only complaints are that the wi-fi does not reach the rooms and that our bed was two twins beds, each with their own set of twin-size sheets, stuck side-by-side. Surprising given that the hotel seems geared towards couples. However, still highly recommend, as it has great atmosphere!

Rural location
Very peaceful and rural location with an astonishing drive down to the hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast simple but good. This is about 15km from Ronda and surrounded by nothing but the stunning national park. Bed not at all comfortable as mattress cover under sheet was horribly stiff so celt like we had cardboard underneath so had dreadful night which was a pity. Dinner wad very good and also excellent value. Fast wifi in public areas but lots of wasps around and dead in the swimming pool so we didnt use it.

Beautiful place
Very cool cabin-like loft room with plenty of space for our family. The hotel staff were helpful and kind and made special meals for our picky toddler. The pool was closed which was disappointing in such warm weather (mid April) but other than that a very nice stay!
