Staff were accommodating and helpful! Travelling with 2 young teens and older parents there was always someone around to help us find a table at the buffet. Housekeeping went above and beyond and helped to decorate the room for our daughter’s 15th birthday. A few minor mishaps (broken hair dryer, a stained sheet) which were fixed immediately after we reported them. People were friendly and nightly entertainment was surprisingly good. Highly recommend the Scuba Caribe catamaran tours that leave from the beach. Would recommend asking ahead for accessible rooms for those not super mobile (was hard to get elevators at times with limited and small lifts) our elderly parents faired ok but I would have asked for closer, ground floor rooms had we known. Also in our junior suite there was an odd bed set up (2 smaller than double beds pushed together and a sofa pull out) There were also steps down to the pull out and balcony area which were all tiled. A huge hazard at night in a dark hotel room. Hospital is in Montego Bay 1.5hrs away which we got to visit after elderly Mom took a bad fall at night on the stairs. Was nice to have access to a nurse on site. Despite cloudy weather all week was a delightful resort. The watersides were a huge hit. Would book this place again!

First time at a Riu hotel, the wait time for a reserved room was too long. But the room was impressive, mini bar stocked, alcohol in the to use at will. I liked the diffrent dinning options.

Clean, nice, decent food. Feels like it wants to be nicer than it is. Mini bar only refilled upon pestering. Can't change the temperature in the roon, even though you should be able to do it. Try playing pool if the cue balls are missing, etc...

The hotel had no one moping up the wet floors from the rain. There is no doctor on duty at this hotel. The nurse said we need to go to the hospital. It cost us $260.00 U.S. for the taxi to and from the hotel. The hospital cost us $7500.00 U.S. for the doctor to pop a dislocated shoulder back into place, 1 shot of morphine, 3 viles of blood and 2 xrays. The hospital said they do not direct bill our insurance company, so we had to pay upfront before they would fix his shoulder. Absolutley ridiculous it was late at night on a saturday. No banks are open to talk to to that late. But they finally did it when i could not get the last $1000.00 for another 24hr. Definitely will be rethinking and asking more questions about doctors on staff at the hotels. The hotel did not take responsibility for the slip and fall at all and definitely did not help out after with accommodation him after the situation. Not impressed at all.

We observed a concerning lack of care for guests and a noticeable disinterest in ensuring their wellbeing. The food quality in all the "themed" restaurants was significantly below expectations, and customer service was virtually non-existent throughout our stay. Additionally, the mixed events where intoxicated individuals were in shared spaces with children created an uncomfortable and inappropriate environment. These issues combined to make our experience deeply disappointing, leading us to cut our vacation short and leave a day earlier than planned. It is truly disheartening, as we had high expectations given the property’s association with the RIU brand.

I requested/paid for double beds and received a king size bed. Also, some of staff had horrible attitudes and the one of the taxi drivers (Martin) made sexual advances towards me, which was appalling. Overall, it was an ok stay.

Property full of bees, cups everywhere, food on the floor and animals eating from it. I found kids pop in the pool. If a guest gets injured, the guest has to pay to see a nurse. Employees in the restaurant do not have any manners, they do not even say good morning, they treat guest really bad! Very poor entertainment for all ages. Never come back again!

I would not recommend you stay at RIU ocho rios, the staff was extremely rude from the front desk to the bartenders, with few exceptions. My room had what looked like black mold and it reeked of mildew. When I brought this up to mgmt they said that they did not smell anything (my other friends who were there with me agreed it smelled) and mgmt did not accommodate my request. I also have pictures of the mold and when I showed this to the higher manager there he said that they would clean it up later, and that was never done. The bartenders at the pools then proceeded to make lewd comments to my friends and straight up asked one of my friends “can I f*** you” we felt so uncomfortable through out our stay. I definitely do not recommend this hotel.

I like everything except the mattress, it’s too hard. We were unable to get good sleep, we ended up taking turns on the couc.
