We liked the assesibility to Fisherman's Wharf.Also the restaurant downstairs, where we had an exellent dinner.You can also have a meal delivered to your room,or pick it up yourself. The Grapes Brittania , a cozy small restaurant, only a few steps away from the hotel offer the best European style breakfast ans coffee. Our room had a beautiful view on the Bay that made it special for us. This is the third time we stayed at The Portola and Spa Hotel and it won't be the last time.

Good Location
Great location. We were able to walk everythwere, Cannery Row, Fisherman's Wharf and more. Valet staff was very welcoming and helpful. Bed was comfortable and the room was quiet aside from the refrigerator, it was a little loud. We would definitely stay here again when it is off season when the rates are lower.

My room on the 6th floor had ants in the bathroom which later migrated to the desk area in the bedroom. When I told the front desk there were ants in my room they responded that it is a green hotel and they don't use pesticides and did not offer any other solutions. I think the employees need to learn more about what "green" means. You don't need to use harmful pesticides to get rid of pests. There are other many environmentally safe solutions that are human and as well as pet friendly!!
