We came for our one year anniversary and stayed for 6 days. We were treated with a tray of macarons and delicious treats with a card in our room. The staff was very polite and nice! We requested microwave it was delivered and installed within minutes of our check in. Hotel is very clean and the bartenders at the lobby bar were friendly. Hotel provided us umbrellas as it rained one time. We couldn’t enjoy the outdoor pool as Montreal construction staff was on holidays. All in all great experience!

From the start at checkin, the hotel staff were amazing. Very thoughtful and courteous. This was an anniversary weekend for us and the staff did a wonderful job or making it extra special. We’ll be back.

The hotel could benefit from a renovation. Unfortunately, the pool was out of service, and while the gym was open, the equipment was somewhat outdated. The surrounding area didn’t feel very secure. I would recommend this hotel mainly for those visiting McGill University. Please note, the hotel does not have its own parking, so valet parking is available at a higher cost, or there is the option of parking in a private lot a few blocks away. Additionally, the dining options are somewhat limited. The bathroom in the room could be more comfortable, and the elevators were not functioning as smoothly as expected.

The pros: great location in the Golden Square Mile area close to metro and buses. Several restaurants and shops nearby including Couche Tard for snacks. Beautiful lobby and view of the mountain near McGill University. Spacious 2-bedroom suite with individual thermostat in each room (although not cooling properly in 1 room). Window opened about an inch in each room with no screen. Blackout drapes. Nice quality sheets. Housekeeping observed the "do not disturb" sign all 4 days. Fantastic service from Diedre (front desk) and Abraham (Bellhop). Close to 747 airport bus, and Uber is available everywhere. Two vouchers from "Sasha" the Director of Rooms. The cons: Cigarette smell permeated our suite. Whenever the air conditioner turned on, we were greeted to a fresh blast of cigarette smell. No soundproofing of windows, walls, ceiling, and hallway doors. The carpet was old and pulling apart. The furniture was so old and dirty to the point my mother didn't want to sit down. Perhaps it was a pet floor? We heard a dog barking. My mother got an extra blanket from the closet which had clumps of hair in it. The ceiling was "popcorn" ceiling. The OMNI Mont-Royal hotel used to have outstanding shower pressure, and now it's very low-flow. Shower curtains instead of glass doors. Toilets are so low to the ground, and low-flow, that it feels like you're squatting on the floor. The lighting is minimal and very dark.

The bed was terribly uncomfortable. Their mattress must be really old/used as both my wife and I had back pain after 2 nights on that mattress. The pillows are really uncomfortable too, and bed sheets felt rough on the skin. We travel a lot around the world, and usually the hotel beds are some of the most comfortable beds. That was the only downside really. Other than that we enjoyed our stay, but because of the bed I dont think we will be staying at this hotel again when we are back in Montreal.

Convenient and quiet downtown location near McGill University. The room was fine, although the electronics could use an upgrade (no working USB ports and most power sockets were too worn out to hold a plug). There was an overnight power outage one night due to city construction in the area (no fault of the hotel), otherwise no issues.

Very upsetting stay. They performed maintenance one night, with the power being off all night. Apparently they knew but did not communicate with guests. Also, another night, heating did not work. Again, they apparently knew beforehand but did not inform us. Had people we work with booked for a November trip. Will be cancelling in favor of another hotel.

This hotel is great because of the area it is located in. The reason for the low score is that I got charged twice. I received 2 invoices for the same stay in my email and 3 days later a new pending charge. I have emailed the property but have not received a response. If you stay, make sure to get your receipts and confirmations both in print out and email.

Our stay had a scheduled electrical outage the night we were leaving. So charging our phones, etc. was difficult. Wish we were notified in advance of our stay. There was no Kleenex in the room both nights and never refilled until we finally called on the last night. Otherwise everyone was nice and mostly accommodating.
