The Hotel Torbräu in Munich is a fabulous older hotel within walking distance of the main Munich tourist attractions. It is also surrounded by several stores, restaurants and bars. We stayed in a superior room which had a comfortable double bed and good in-room air conditioning system. The room was rather small without much storage area. The room did have a small refrigerator and in-room safe. The bathroom was lacking in countertop space and the shower was a bit small. Parking is available on a side street for a fee but availability is limited. The Schapeau Bar and restaurant in the hotel was wonderful and reasonably priced. Overall a nice stay at a reasonable price close to the sights.

Fantastic hotel in excellent location with walking distance to all sights in the city center. Very friendly and professional staff who always greeted us with a smile. Nice, large rooms, comfortable beds and a great breakfast. Would definitely return on our next visit to Munich!

Remarkable little hotel with BIG Value
We took the train from Salzburg to Munich and the train dropped us off 700 feet from hotel which was right next to one of three gates to the city. The location could not of been better. Extremely safe, walkable to cathedrals, glockenspiel, Christmas markets and old town tours. Highly recommend this hotel

Hotel Torbrau is excellent. We stayed here for 4 nights with our extended family using 7 rooms of various styles. Each was lovely with comfortable beds, high quality linens, and espresso machines. The breakfast is excellent with a wide variety. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. The location is perfect, across the street from a train stop and a short walk to Marienplatz, yet our rooms were quiet. Thank you for making our first visit to Munich so memorable! We know where we'll stay if we ever come again.

Beginning with a fantastic old town Munich location, and emerging as a very central location for restaurants, historic sites, and transportation, this hotel was far better than most.!! Plus it sports a 500 year history.

The two best things about this property are the staff and the location. Staff was helpful and friendly. The location can't be beat--near Marianplatz but far enough away to be off the touristy path. I did not find it as clean as I would have liked. I never saw a cleaning cart as one sees in hotels; but rather, a single cleaning person carrying a shopping bag with rags and sprays and a little bucket of water outside the room where she was cleaning. The linens were dingy and old and had seen much better days. I ended up tossing the pillow to the side as they smelled pretty funky. Didn't eat breakfast there as there are many coffee shops and places nearby.

A wonderful property. Free water in the mini bar and extra Expedia perks made this extra special. Steps from a subway and a short walk to the square and market. Lots of great restaurants in the area too. The breakfast buffet is well stocked and quite tasty. A good value and a great experience. 😀😀

We had a fantastic stay here. Location was great, housekeeping was amazing, and room was very comfortable!!! We will definitely stay here again. I was a little loud at times but it didn't bother us.
