Vacation in architectural monument combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a revitalised future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the ‘Vacation in architectural monument’ foundation, which was set up by the Swiss Heritage Society in 2005.

Public transport: From Chur, take the bus in the direction of San Bernardino / Bellinzona to Zillis. Change there for the bus in the direction of Wergenstein to Lohn.

By car: From Chur on the A13/E43 motorway in the direction of San Bernardino to Zillis-Reischen (exit 24). From there, turn right up the slope to Lohn.

Parking: Spring to autumn directly at the house. In winter in the car park at the entrance to the village.

Number of persons 4: The house can accommodate four guests in two bedrooms. One room is cold in winter - the beds (160/200) are equipped with electric heating pads. The floors are made of wood and stone, which is why we recommend good slippers. Despite the insulation, it can get colder in winter, so we recommend warm clothing.

Season: All year round

Short holidays: Not possible

Outdoor space: Garden with seating area, large long table with 4 garden chairs, small bench.

Heating: The parlour and kitchen have a wood-burning stove, the bathroom has electric underfloor heating (solar panels) and the room on the ground floor has a radiator to keep the room at the right temperature. There are also electric heating pads in the beds. One room cannot be heated in winter.

Stove / fireplace: New soapstone cooker in the kitchen and historic brick stove in the parlour

Kitchen: Gas cooker and wood cooker, mocha pot. Oven in the wood-burning cooker, but not completely unattended.

Important addition:
The Tgea Simonett is a historic house, a listed building. Although it is technically equipped to modern standards, we would like to point out that certain functional details such as window and door openers, stair handrails and step heights do not comply with current standards and could be a potential source of danger. The staircase is very steep, but has fall protection. The tenant is aware of these circumstances. The owner, e-domizil and the Vacation in architectural monument foundation decline any liability.
