Westgate Myrtle Beach was a perfect pick for our vacation based on oceanfront location. We stayed 2 nights and everything was great, aside from our unswept room floor. Upon check in, after 6pm, we were told that housekeeping services was not performed daily but can be requested. Saturday morning we explained to hotel staff that our room needed to be swept and mopped. My sisters brand new pair of white socks were filthy after she took them off before bed on Friday night. Front desk staff apologized for the uncleanliness and stated that housekeeping would take care of it. After returning to the hotel Saturday evening, our room floor had not been swept or mopped. So we stayed another night walking around the room with dirt and crumbs all over the floor from the previous guest, apparently. It was extremely annoying hearing crumbled whatever under the bottom of my house shoes, especially knowing it came from previous guests. I tried not to let that disturb my stay but it did. As friendly and as the staff were, I don’t think I’ll stay at this property again because of the lack of care, concern and respect of my requests. We shouldn’t have had to stay 2 nights in the previous guests filth. That was extremely unsanitary. Please do better bc the next guest may not be as professional as I am.
