Beautiful property. View of the lake is amazing and serene. Comfortable beds. Great breakfast. We arrived late and were disappointed to find a tour buses parked in front of our two cabins. Recommend property asks tour buses park behind cabin to avoid obstructing view of the lake from cabins.
We liked this place a lot. The house was very clean and close to the nature spa. We had a private hot tub which we loved. The staff is very friendly and kind and they make an amazing breakfast. We enjoyed our stay here very much. They also have two hotel dogs which my kids loved. The dogs were so friendly and sweet. We walked around the complex which is located right on the lake and it was beautiful.
I hate to give this place a bad review because the staff was so helpful and friendly but the place was way overpriced for what it was. Everything in Iceland is expensive but this was the most expensive place we stayed and definitely the oldest and most run down. Additionally, we had a cabin with a hot tub. When we arrived - they said the flies had been out so they emptied & refilled it for us (amazing service) but why didn't they have a cover for the hot tub and if flies are out in force in the summer there - why do they offer the hot tub at all? We did not use it - though we paid extra for that room. I'm not talking a few flies - they literally offered us all nets to put over our heads to wear to deal with the number of flies. Yuck! I would skip Myvatn altogether if you are going to Iceland in the summer. Stay in Husavik instead!
Tight room with good rolla shutters to keep the light and noise out. Good location for the sites around lake Myvtan. Shared kitchen and lounge area was clean and well organised. Gets a little crowded with three different rooms trying to cook at once. But overall good place to stay.
We've stayed in better places while in Iceland, but it was alright. Great view from our double room 11. The rooms are small and the walls are thin. But neighbors were quiet. A very handy communal kitchen area. The place has easy access to all the sights Lake MyVatn has to offer.
Guesthouse was great and had a kitchen, laundry adjacent. The guesthouse room was really small, it was tough to unpack in such a small space and wish rooms were slightly bigger. Otherwise everything was clean and perfect.
The pictures are decieving. We thought we rented a small guesthouse but actually we had a very tiny room in the back of a building with a double bed. Luckily it was only 1 night because we could have stayed there a second night. We arrived in the evening and left in the morning. The room was clean, the bathroom tiny and the small bed was suprisingly comfortable.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
The cabins were OK, but they were tiny. The cabin should really be for a single, and not a double. There was no place to put anything except one small table and one chair.
What I didn't expect was the requirement to remove my shoes to eat breakfast. While I do that frequently when I'm at a friend's or relative's house, I would never do it while at a place of business, especially a place where many guests pass through. I was asked to remove my shoes and wear clogs that others had worn without cleaning. I refused, so I left and bought breakfast elsewhere. While the woman did recant after I told her this requirement was never explained anywhere prior to arrival, I was uncomfortable at that point and just left.
The Lake view cottage was very cozy and had a beautiful view of Lake Myvatn. The host Kata was really nice and accomodating. She helped us immediately when we were short a towel/sheet set after hours. The Lake view photos are accurate. What the cottage might have lacked in size it gained in view and location. Breakfast was wonderful! We loved the smoked salmon and freshly squeezed orange juice. There was no grill at our cottage (#4) but there was one in the common area - we did not cook. The washer/dryer was sufficient for our needs. We would definitely stay again!
