Coast bastion is always our go to choice . They have changed ownership or something with restaurant . We went in for Prime rive dinner but were sold out. Nothing else was appealing. Happy hour was lack luster to say the least

This was 13-14th stay at the wonderful Coast Bastion. It's such a pleasure to escape the noise of relentless Vancouver condo construction and scooters and e-bikes prowling the sidewalks. That's why I love the Nanaimo waterfront so much. Plus, the desk staff at the Bastion are the best ever. I always look forward to going back.

Beautiful Harbour view.
Super friendly desk staff. Our view of the harbor was magnificent. Parking was no problem. There is a tight space in front of the hotel while unloading, but all went smooth with help from front desk staff. Restaurant was great and the location is excellent for small restaurants, breakfast places and gallery or gift shopping

The Coast Bastion has been my go to place in Nanaimo for many years. The upgrades carried out in the recent past are tastefully done and the rooms are very nice. The fantastic views remain the same. Food at Minnoz was even better than I remember it and the calamari and mussels were very tasty!
