Needed somewhere to stay close to Nanaimo for a couple nights and came across this place. It was within my budget and I have no complaints! The owners were very friendly, the room and everything was clean, the water pressure in the shower was better than at home, and it was nice having a balcony with a decent view!

Rooms and property are a bit old but taken care of! Room we had could be considered a bit small and would have liked a bigger balcony area with a small table but I knew all that! 2 of us can go Ladysmith for 5 nights and happy with motel! Very clean and our needs were met! I had read previously that some people complained about highway noise? Really! The motel is right beside the highway! Lol. We shut balcony door closed the curtains and turned A/C on! Problem solved! Will gladly stay again!

This place could be a gem, great location, but needs definite renovations. Bed was very comfortable and shower was clean so that was important, but lock on screen for patio didn’t work, lock was sticky. Lamp didn’t work. Rooms dire need of painting and upgrading. For the price we paid, I suppose we expected more. We would stay again in a pinch, but not my first choice.

Desk person was very pleasant and so was on/site staff. But I could barely walk into the check-in area because it was full of incense. Some of that smell also seeps up to the room. Mattress was good, But the heavy traffic noise all night long outdoors was way too much. Even with earplugs.way overpriced

Super clean but very dated. Odd that the staff (owners) were away and reception locked up at check in time 4pm. Walking distance to all the shopping and restaurants in Ladysmith. Great water view from the balcony.

We didn’t have a great experience the first time but they’re close to where we needed to be. So we stayed again, even gave $40 tip. It was during the heatwave with day temps of 33 degrees feels like 36…. The AC unit took an hour to cool the room down with a fan to help it. Our biggest issue was as soon as we left the hotel, the owners came in and turned off the AC so when we got back the room was as hot as outside…. Why be so cheap saving electricity like that? At home I run a better AC unit and know how much they cost to run all summer. The hotel only had a couple people staying there so it’s not like every room was running AC units 24/7. But even if they did, don’t be so cheap! It’s part of running a hotel. We paid over $500 for two nights!!! Not our fault business is slow…. The new hotel in town is cheaper, stay there or go down highway to Microhotel which has a damn pool for same money…. Goodbye Holiday House in Ladysmith.
