Fantastic house in fantastic location
We really loved our stay at Shimmering Cove. The house was plenty big for two families and the bonus game room provided an additional indoor space that helped spread things out. There are indeed many (100+) stairs down to the water, but we all just treated it as our exercise for the week. The cove is perfect for swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing etc. The private dock at the house is large enough for many people to hang out on. Everything in the house worked perfectly. We were a little concerned about the lack of a/c but we had a cooler week in August and it was fine. The hot tub got a lot of use too!

Wonderful home on Sebago Lake
This is a well-stocked, well-located, lovely home on Sebago Lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners clearly take pride in their home - the kitchen has everything you could want, the beds are comfortable, and the layout makes communal living easy. We kayaked, spent time on the dock, enjoyed the hot tub and played ping pong. The one thing I would note, which I don't recall from the description, is that there are over 100 stairs down to the dock; it was totally fine for most of us, but not for my 86 year old father.

Nice stay with multiple families
We stayed with 3 families (6 adults and 6 kids ages 12-15). The house was secluded and private, which was very nice. The layout of the house worked well for our group. The game room area was a hit with the kids. The steps are no joke, but we got used to them and treated it as our workout. The dock worked well for our 17’ fishing boat, and we were also able to dock a 24’ boat we rented for a few days. There is a boat channel directly in front of the dock about 20’ and a no wake zone. It gave the kids plenty of place to swim without fear of a boat coming too close. Their favorite part was swimming/paddle boarding over to a rock to jump off of. That kept them busy for hours. This area of the lake (known by the locals as Muddy River) does have a lot of milfoil in the lake. Directly by the house it is fine, however it’s not as clear as Sebago. It’s perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding but my daughter, who likes open water swims wasn’t really into swimming in the large amount of milfoil (like a weed) further away from the house and up the cove. One negative was that while we had great weather, it was in the 80s a few days. The house does not have air conditioning and made it very warm and stuffy throughout the house, despite having lots of fans in almost every room. It got quite warm to sleep. The downstairs, which is where 3 bedrooms are located, does have a major humidity issue that I believe should be addressed to avoid bigger issues.

Memorial Day Weekend!
The lake house was beautiful and everything flowed very nicely! This house is a wonderful space to gather with friends and family! There are a few steps getting to the lake so if people have mobility issues I can see it being a problem, but it didn’t bother us during the stay! We would book this place again!

Amazing stay
Shimmering Cove was the perfect location for me and my friends to stay at for the weekend. There was plenty of space, activities, and supplies available. The hot tub was amazing and the views were wonderful. We made use of the kayaks, and there was also plenty to do when the weather was rainy. Check in and check out process was seamless. I would highly recommend this property!

A Wonderful Week at Shimmering Cove
Shimmering Cove was a beautiful setting for our family vacation! The house was spotless and the kitchen fully equipped, and we really appreciated the fans in every room. The kids (both young and old) spent most of their time on the kayaks, canoe, and paddle boards, swimming, and fishing. We especially enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. The game room was fantastic and we ate most of our meals on the porch. Another bonus was the proximity of the house to Naples (3 miles) for restaurants and the marina and Bridgton ( 9 miles) for groceries and restaurants. The week was so relaxing and worry free- thank you so much!

Shimmering Cove Stay
This house was perfect for our 10 person family reunion. The location was perfect on the quiet cove right off Lake Sebago. There was an abundance of watercraft and we were actually all able to go out together (brought 1 kayak of our own). The game room was a terrific addition for rainy days and the outdoor eating area with the large table easily accommodated us all. Lovely hot tub with beautiful views of the surrounding woods. Plenty of seating in the living room and a large, well supplied kitchen. Such a great week in Maine!

Perfect stay
This house met all of our needs on our getaway! We truly enjoyed all the gathering spaces it offered. The teens loved the game room esp the ping pong table. There was such a great variety of water toys. We enjoyed several moonlit canoe rides. We had a lobster feast and everything we could possibly need was provided. As far as the stairs went, we simply embraced that as our workout. Everything we needed was at this house. We even lost power the first night d t a storm and contacted the host…. She got back to me instantly and told us where lanterns were located. She gave us regular updates to the power situation. We conveniently found cards she had in a drawer and enjoyed playing by lantern. I would highly recommend staying here! We created some wonderful memories at Shimmering Cove!

Great Location on Sebago Basin
We are former Mainers who have been renting for the past 10 years since selling the family camp. The water was beautiful. The stairs appear intimidating at first, but you get used to it. The camp was spacious with big outdoor dining area. Anytime you get to spend time in Maine on the lake with family is quality time. Thank you Jessica for sharing your house.

Great Fun on the Lake
Well stocked dock with kayaks, a paddle board, a canoe, inner tubes, folding chairs, lift jackets, etc. indoor living space is excellent for extended family with children with several different options for spreading out with lots of games for multiple ages. The kitchen is well-stocked and easy to work in with several people at a time. We enjoyed eating indoors and out as a family around large tables. The screened in porch was great when the mosquitoes came out. Our only complaint was that the basement humidity is very high. Three of the 4 bedrooms are in the basement which retained moisture in the bedding and in our clothes. The floors were damp. There is one small dehumidifier which helped but each room should have one. We had a terrific time with our family.

Beautiful Home
We went up for a Bachelor Party there were 12 guys and everyone had an absolute blast. There was plenty of room for all of use to do our own thing or for all of use to hang out. It was an added bonus to have the covered porch on the rainy/cold days, and the screened in gazebo was a saving grace at night when it got buggy! We never had an issue with anything and the kitchen was fully stocked one of the best VRBO kitchens I have ever been in. Jessica was an amazing host very responsive and very nice!

Very Unique property with tons of space
Awesome property. The large table on the deck became our main hangout. There is also a beautiful enclosed sitting area complete with string lights nearby. The giant game room above the garage is a perfect place for young kids and teens. Definitely a lot of stairs to get down to the dock, but there's plenty of benches along the way. We loved the kayaks and paddle board. There is a shed near the dock full of all kinds of dock/water supplies. We had no issues at all during our long weekend stay. Plenty of parking for 5+ vehicles easily. Kitchen is great with plenty of high quality supplies.

Shimmering cove indeed, quiet and inviting.
A lovely property with generous and flexible space , welcoming, and enjoyable and clean. Lots of options including canoeing , kayaking, etc. The owners are highly responsive and hospitable and easy to communicate with. For serious swimmers , though, a shallow overgrown part of the lake does not provide for a great swimming experience, and the boat traffic through the channel , while slow and careful , requires the swimmer’s attention.

Great time in Maine!
The house was great for our group. The bedrooms were exactly what we needed. The game room was a great escape for the teens. The lake was awesome. The stairs…. Not so much. Lol. The property description is very clear about the number of stairs, but they are a lot. I was very glad that we didn’t have small children with us that would need to be carried! The house had everything we needed. We did feel that the house could use a deep cleaning. But, it is mid-season and I’m sure a lot of families have been in the house this year.

Maine Vacation
It was a beautiful location, and the canoe and kayaks were great fun. The kids also loved the theatre, game room. The problems were mildew on the ceiling, primarily in the downstairs' bathroom, a broken toilet seat in half bath and torn screen door. While we were there someone came by to see if we wanted to have all the cob webs removed from all the windows and decks, I would highly recommend the owners have that done, it would dramatically improve the view.
