The location was just a stone throw away from the New Haven green, giving great options for recreations and dining. Transportation was not an issue, with regular busses going to even the more remote locations in the city.

Due to a cancelled flight, we couldn’t arrive New Haven for the reserved hotel. It was already prepaid for 2 nights through Expedia. I’m in the process of claiming travel insurance. They required a document stating that the prepaid charges are not refundable. I had contacted the hotel and they will not provide refund. They also will not provide a document required by the travel insurance. So please help to provide an email stating that the prepaid hotel charges are not refundable. Thanks!

If you are hoping to get a good night's sleep, this may not be the place for you. My room had a smoke detector with a blinking light that kept us up all night. I felt like there was a photographer in my room all night taken my photo using a flash every 10 seconds. I complained to the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do - that all of the rooms had smoke detectors with blinking lights. My sleep was disrupted, which in turn disrupted my enjoyment of my trip.

Beautiful hotel from the second you walk in. Gorgeous, spacious lobby area with comfortable couches, tables and tvs. Nice big bar area. Walk to shops and restaurants.

Lovely. The only thing is that it is really too much for one person to have to manage the bar and the restaurant at the same time. With the bar location separate, it’s just not realistic to have just one person having to serve.

Not very safe place at night
GREAT stay as always but security is terrible. At midnight there are wide open front doors and no requirements to use card for the elevators. Hotel is located in a bad neighborhood. When asked upfront about security at night - their answer was -" we had a power outage and it does not work any more -the front door lock". When asked again-when is it going to be finished- the answer was-"we don't know". More like "we don't care". We rare exception front desk is rude and arrogant.
