The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel was clean. But it needs new carpet and upgraded fixtures. We didn't have a plug in our bathroom sink. The shower was good but the water fixture was very high up the wall. Overall it was in a great location with very friendly staff.

While the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was less than clean. There was hair on the floor, behind the door, and in the shower. Curtains were torn. It was quiet as I don’t think there was anyone else on our floor. We were next to the elevator and never heard the elevator. The toilet never stopped running. Keeping the bathroom door closed did help. The pictures online do not depict what the property looks like in person.

I just finished my 4 day stay here in NOLA, overall my experience was okay but I felt compelled to write a review due to a few things that went wrong. Upon check in, staff was friendly however I was charged an additional service fee for $40. Which was fine but I was not notified about that cost prior, and had prepaid already. Once I got to my room I noticed a loud leak coming from a pipe in the shower. I notified staff who were nice about it and immediately transferred me to a different room. For some reason the TV didn’t work there either (looked like the cable was cut?) so that was odd. Both rooms could have been a little cleaner than they were. Last issue was the elevator, there was only one and it was very slow, and stopped working for a few hours. The stairwell was a little sketchy and very dirty, and being an older building it seemed to only have a/c to the individual rooms and not hallways. Overall my stay was decent, the area it’s in is great (short walk to French Quarter) and the price is somewhat reasonable for what you get, but I don’t think I was prepared for all the “quirks” of this place. The websites/online pictures are a little misleading as well as the fact it’s classified as a Best Western Premiere location, which it probably shouldn’t be. The lobby is nice and the rooms well decorated, but it definitely shows its age.

Our room wasn’t ready for at least an hour after check in, which caused me to have to change in the lobby bathroom and be late for my dinner reservation. I also had to bring my luggage to dinner. Concierge showed no real effort to fix the issue, giving the excuse that the room wasn’t ready bc I had upgraded to a nicer room. Idk why having a nicer room would make me have to wait longer. When I finally did get back to the hotel at 11, I only had my room key and no actual directions. When I did finally find the room, the keys didn’t work, so I had to go back downstairs and have them issue me new keys. Not a good experience, I won’t be coming back.

We tried to check into our room at 4:30pm and they were severely backed up with cleaning - had to wait almost 2 hrs before we were let in. At that time my mom was let into her room which was not cleaned and had garbage bags everywhere. When she tried to correct it, she was brought to a room with no air conditioning with only the heat on - they did not move her to a cool, comfortable room until 1am despite her complaining since 7pm about it. They were prioritizing other people who hadn’t checked in yet.

Parking was a big problem for us when we got to the hotel. We had to park in the public garage and it would’ve made us paid everytime we left the garage. The hotel offers valet for $50 a night but I think they just park it in the garage also. The Public parking garage is not attached to the hotel so we had to drag our luggage out and down, around the building and then back up to our room. As soon as we got into the parking garage it closed the entrance around 7pm so we felt like we couldn’t leave once we parked. The garage was very complicated to navigate and the hotel didn’t really assist us in anyway when it came to parking. Parking on the street wasn’t really an option for us. So I paid $60 parking fees for two nights. Nevertheless, The hotel was great for us because we had our dog and we were right next to Lafayette square so we can walk him there. The trolley cart is easy accessible and it’s a little over a mile walk to Jackson square. I love that there was a Starbucks right across the street and a French truck cafe right next to the hotel. We did uber eats to explore options nearby and it was great. The hotel was great overall if you don’t mind the parking situation.

It was located in a good area, seemed safe and still walking distance to a few good dining options and the French quarter. The trolley right out front is really loud and it just seemed like a less insulated building, everything seemed a bit loud. The staff was really friendly and the restaurant downstairs was good.

The service was excellent. Everyone we encountered was friendly and very accommodating. The property is a little outdated but the room rates are reasonable. Our room was clean, bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. I was a little afraid because other people gave a crappy rating but you get what you pay for. You can’t pay motel 6 prices and expect the Ritz. Staff is great, prices are reasonable and we would stay here again. The rail car does run in front of the hotel so if you’re a light sleeper you may hate it but it didn’t bother us. The diner that is connected is convenient, service and food was very good.
