We've stayed here a few times, and always had a good experience. Convenient for things north of Times Square (Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center). Rooms are always clean and well maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

The property was a perfect location to all the amenities you could ever want. However, the hotel could use a bit of a facelift in appearance of their rooms and their amenities. Different toiletries, coffee in room etc would have heighten the experience. Overall the hotel was what was needed. A place to sleep and shower while site seeing.

This hotel is a real gem. It is central to everything. Easy to get to transit and the staff are fabulous. Jeff is full of advice and very helpful. They have a happy hour every night with free wine and coffee in the morning. It was nice to meet up with other travelers over a glass of wine. We would definitely stay here again.

Soft mattress for stomach sleepers
I like to start with the positives! The staff was great, very friendly and professional. The room was spacious and good location in the city. Complimentary wine tasting from 5-6pm in the lobby when I stayed there. Opportunities….When I got into my room, the large artwork behind the beds was falling off the wall which could have been extremely dangerous so I called down so engineering could come and fix it which they did but that should have been done before I checked in. Biggest issue was the mattress was soooo soft, my back was killing me after a couple nights sleeping there. Ugh had to come home and go see my chiropractor. If I didn’t need a firm mattress I’d give this place another shot.

I liked the coffee and apples. The staff was very friendly. The bed was a bit hard, and the toilet handle stuck. The view into the interior courtyard from 1023 was a bit disapointing. But I came to work, so this was not really an issue.

The most important part of a hotel is the comfort of the bed. Let’s start with no fitted sheet on the mattress, just a flat sheet tucked under. No top sheet at all. The room was too warm and comforter too hot. Since no top sheet I had nothing to cover up with. Also, when the comforter was pulled down it also pulled out the flat sheet they use instead of a fitted sheet. No matter how many times you tuck that sheet under the mattress it still moves around when you toss and turn. I ended up laying directly on the mattress pad which was put on the mattress upside down with the rubber side up. Moving forward…I addressed these issues with housekeeping in the hallway and was told they don’t use fitted sheets, they could not give me another sheet to use as a top sheet, and they were told to put the mattress pad upside down so the flat sheet doesn’t slide as much. As I started changing the mattress pad to right side up she gave me a very loud audible ughhhh. I spoke to the front desk and assistant manager who were very nice, provided a top sheet, and apologized. Added to our experience, twice the hotel staff had loud words with each other in the hallway, not very pleasant. The room carpets are filthy. The mattress was sunken in on one side. The only thing that was alright was the bathroom, thankfully. Looks and price can be deceiving.

Great property in a great location! Walkable to Time Square and Central Park and great restaurants and theaters. Check in was smooth and transport to the airport was easy with a car service for a reasonable price coordinated by the concierge. Only small thing to improve on was the WiFi in room 1219 was a bit slow. Would most definitely stay here again!

There are many options for lodging in NYC Ameritania is one that stands out. The building itself may not compare with some larger hotel chains but the owners make the most of it The property is very well kept. Our room, though on a smaller side was immaculate and provided decent amenities The most important reason to stay here is the staff. Every staff member we met was knowledgeable in their area and wanted to make sure we were satisfied during our stay. Each presented as highly professional and treated us as if we were 5 star guests. If you want to be treated with respect and care- and to get your money’s worth- stay here.

Great location. Close to a lot of the theaters. Staff was very friendly. Coffee available in the lobby in the morning and apples and water in the afternoon. Apparently, there’s a happy hour in the lobby where they give you a free glass of wine, but we did not take advantage of that. The only negative thing about our stay was the room was quite small, which is probably typical in New York City. Our bed said it was a queen standard, but it was a little on the smallest size. Other than that it was a great day.
