The pics that the hotel uses to show its common areas and rooms are highly misleading. The hotel is overall dirty, dented, and worn. The elevators are decrepit and dirty. Only one was in service during our stay. The free breakfast was awful - stale bagels, etc. we were awoken at 3 am by some piece of machinery that loudly hissed for hours on end, and kept us awake. When we pointed it out to staff on checkout she comped us $25. Wow. You all are overcharging for this $hithole, which is tantamount to an hourly hotel.

Great and affordable stay within walking distance to Grand Central. The staff at the front desk and housekeeping were all so nice, friendly, and helpful. The facilities were clean with some updates to the bathrooms. My only complaint is that sound did travel pretty heavily in the hallways and I found my sleep was a little disturbed in the earlier hours when some doors were opening and closing in the hall. Otherwise, I’d definitely recommend City Club to others looking for an affordable stay in a central location in NYC
