Overpriced and dirty
This hotel is incredibly dirty. The lobby was filthy, there were stains on the lobby furniture, the elevator was full of smudges, the hallway carpet leading up to the room looked unkept, there was old gum on the floor in the room, sheet was yellowed and stained.

The full fresh breakfast each morning was great! Omelettes, fruit, juices, etc. great! Breakfast staff were great! 2 mornings out of 3 we had low water pressure and no hot water for a shower!!! Terrible. I did not get back a satisfactory credit on the nightly hotel rental, even after speaking with hotel general manager. Hotel is over priced for a 1-2 star hotel!

Overall, the property is decent for the price in the area since it is very close to a lot of areas usually visited by tourist. The two men serving/attending to people eating breakfast were very pleasant. The elevator wait especially during breakfast time is long, the shower is too small that even a smaller person like our group were hitting our elbows in the wall/glass door. The water pressure is also not that good but at least can wash you off. The surrounding area is just like the other areas close to time square, but if you're not walking alone, it's not bad.

Excellent staff, room not so much.
Well, the staff was excellent! Very helpful and attentive. Especially the guy making waffles in the morning! I'm someone who travels frequently so I've interacted with a lot of hotel staff. Also, have stayed in alot of different hotels. The room had some issues that should have been addressed in between guests. 1. The security latch was not aligned with the door so it didn't work. I was offered for someone to come fix it but I declined because I was already unpacked and I don't like hotel staff in my room when I'm not there. Nothing personal against your staff, just people in general. I felt like that should have been checked and fixed prior to my arrival. Also, I was missing a desk chair. I did request and have one brought in so that was good but also that should have been there prior to my arrival. 2. The room overall is in need of updating and the bed dips towards the middle so the mattress is obviously old. I'd also suggest some sort of solid border around the bed frame because parts of it stick out and I jammed my toes a few times - good thing I was wearing shoes. I DID receive a 2nd floor room which I requested and I appreciate that because the stairs were easy to use and access. Overall, 5 stars for staff but maybe 3 for the room. I didn't feel like the room was worth the price I paid mainly due to the updates that are needed. I'm maybe 50/50 on staying there again on my next trip to the City.

We came in early to drop off luggages off before check-in. The staff that greeted us were curt and annoyed. I get it that its the morning and there is a lot going on but it wasnt necessary in how we were greeted (and other guests too). When we finally were able to check in, this completely other employee was absolutely wonderful though. She was very pleasant. The morning breakfast was horrible. Even the coffee was burnt and bitter. House keeping does come and take care of the rooms. New towels and trash. (Did have to ask for more towels though but that's neither here nor there). Would have liked an easoer drop off area to load and unload our baggage. Would not recommend staying here.

The property is conveniently located in the city. Easy to walk to most of the attractions(about 10 minutes). Also, since I drove to manhattan, it was nice to see that the hotel was not to far off the highway by car. Minimal traffic to deal with. The hotel is great for a 3 to 4 night stay. The only down side was the dining area is way too small for the volume of guests at the continental breakfast.

THEFT... Now that I have your attention, the Hotel was OK and conveniently located for my purposes. This review is low due to the Valet Parking Issue I had which involves the company Hampton chose to hire for this purpose. Upon return of my vehicle, I found a drink and napkins in the passenger side??? But the worst was they stole from the vehicle. The item stolen was low value, BUT important to me. DO NOT USE the Valet Service at this Hampton... if you do need Valet Parking, choose a different Hotel.

Decent-not great but several areas that were good
There was not enough shampoo in the shower and the shower gel and hand soap were switched so when taking a shower the only option was hand soap. The decorative window curtains were broken on one side. The pros: Breakfast had many options and was hot and delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to sleep well because the beds were comfortable.
