The plumbing is awful, and it wasn’t just in my room. When you turn the water to hot in the shower, it sounds like there’s construction happening. If you’re hoping for a warm shower, don’t count on it—sometimes only cold water comes out, even with the faucet fully turned. The bathroom had a barn door, the walls were thin, and there was a strong smell of weed. There are 4 small elevators, but if you’re on a higher floor and need to get somewhere quickly, be prepared to take the stairs or wait several minutes during busy times. On the bright side, the room was clean, and the location is great, but the issues with the plumbing, elevators, smell and barn doors would keep me from staying here again.

The staff was really nice. We arrived at 12 noon and they let us get our room early. It's an older hotel so it's not as updated but the best part is they had a laundry center so we could do our clothes and they had a great bar and restaurant Empire Steakhouse and Bar. It's a very good location but not glamorous.

GREAT location - SUPERB room
This was our first visit to NYC, and we wanted a hotel that was close to everything. That might sound impossible, but for us the Hilton Garden Inn/New York/Central Park South-Midtown West was ideally situated. The staff was friendly, prompt, and a pleasure to deal with. The room was clean and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our visit and highly recommend this hotel. Close to Central Park, theaters, Times Square, and Ellen’s Stardust Diner. What a great place!

The hotel has an excellent location, the maids did their job very well, the hotel needs to change its carpets both in the rooms and in the hallways, it looks run down for a Hilton.

Elevators are old, slow, and small, and are not able to service the entire building. We waited 15 minutes for the elevator. Carpets, hallways, and interiors were old and tired. The room was fine, but expensive for the quality and condition.

people at the front desk were kind enough but the room was not greatly kept up in four days the room was ti be cleaned daily- it wasn't- even though we requested it at the front desk on arrival, room never vacuumed, no soap in shower, tissue ran out and not replaced after being asked to replace both coffee maker leaked and was not replaced coffee pods were decaf after asking they be replaced with regular caffenated We will not stay there again

This hotel was centrally located to everything we wanted to do in NY. It was a few minutes from the MTA and walking distance to Central Park. The room was good sized for NY and clean. Our only complaint was during check in. The woman who checked us in greeted us with what I would describe as studied indifference, which has never been our experience before with a Hilton property. This was even more disappointing because her name tag identified her as an assistant manager, which reflects poorly on the property. Other than that, the rest of the staff was friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed our stay.
