This is a cute little studio room with kitchen amenities. It was close to the train station, and it suited our needs perfectly. The only thing I'd like to suggest to the owner is to add wash cloths and maybe a few more bath towels to the bathroom inventory. We had to go buy wash cloths to take showers. And a roll of paper towels and/or kitchen towels to clean up/dry any dishes used. Other than that, it was perfect.

This hotel gives you a rather dismal first impression: it's embedded in a commercial building on 31st, which it shares with assorted businesses that, for example, sell SIM cards or offer to store your luggage. Many people are always sitting in the lobby, with their voluminous luggage. The hotel reception is only open from 9 to 5 but they have mechanisms to let you check in and out at other times. When you go upstairs, you encounter an old low-marked residential building transformed into a hotel. But, very surprisingly, the room is meticulously clean and offers most if not all of the features you'd get in a mainstream hotel! The only two drawbacks, in addition to the disconcerting lobby, are the street noise and the fact that there's no front-desk support from 5 pm to 9 am. But the hotel is conveniently close to Penn Station and you really get a good deal for the money. I would go again.

The management communicated well but had some difficulty explaining how the poor reviews of another host in the building is not a reflection of Hotel and the City. They need to clarify their advertising to disassociate from other hosts. Good experience, excellent location, tiny and cute, clean but we would not stay there again because of the very old bed linens and like old buildings the pipes bang at 5am when the heat goes on. I will say that the management warns you…which was odd and funny. With brand new linens and towels I would give it a try again for a one night stay. No smells, no bugs. It really was well kept. And I checked both mattresses. Each had 2 zipped mattress covers.

Bathroom flooded but great location/clean/comfy
The hotel suite was bigger than expected and very clean. All appliances worked and the beds were comfy. However our toilet randomly clogged at 5am and then started flooding the bathroom. The building maintenance only gave us a plunger and blamed us for putting any toilet paper in the toilet at all. He said someone would bring us more towels and help clean up in the morning but that did not happen. We unclogged the toilet, turned off the water, and cleaned up the flooding ourselves. The concierge was very apologetic and did not make us pay for the damages but we still paid full price for the suite when we couldn’t use the toilet for half of our visit. The heat was also very loud throughout the night however I understand this is pretty unavoidable in old NYC buildings. The location was ideal and easy to find and the free luggage storage was easy and helpful.

Our room (penthouse 4) accommodated my family of 6 well. It was nice to have a near full kitchen (minus the oven). Beds were comfy. The private patio with a view of the empire state building was a big plus!

Unit is clean atmosphere but new towels are needed and sheets are also very worn and need upgrade for winter. Communication is great and access to midtown perfect so will come back just hoping you will have fixed towels by then.

Just want to start by saying this is not a hotel. This is a converted efficiency apartment building. The floors are extremely uneven and smell of smoke every where. We got to our room and it appeared to be clean from the surface. The beds were clean, but under neath was full of dust. The extra outlets did not work and it was cold. We had received a message after check in that the water may not be hot and we would need to allow 5 to 10 mins for it to become warm. We made a plan from there on how to take our showers. The next thing was they said that the heating pipes could make noise and not to be concerned. Well that happened all night long. I was awaken multiple times each hour from 11pm until 6am. There was no sleep to be had that night. In addition, for this to be heating pipes it was so cold I could not get warm. If I was staying by myself, I would have just gone to the train station to wait for my train, but I had my child with me. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The Korean donut place right next door is wonderful though.

The room we stayed in was extremely small and did not match the pics on the website. The bathroom was ridiculously small and also didn’t match any of the pictures. Towels were thin and rough. The bunk bed ladder was made of rod iron and about a 1/2” wide. Made it difficult to climb up and down, especially in the middle of the night. Positive aspect was it was very close to the subway.

Traveling with two dancers for the Macy’s day parade needed a one night stop before we checked in on our package deal for a wink. It was amazing for three of us and restaurants close by easy access very friendly staff.

Fun in the city
Loved the location and hotel room. Really good for 5 of us. One bathroom in room but another one for all residents just down the hall if needed. No coffee maker in room but when I asked about it they did bring a tea kettle. No big deal- coffee is easy to get nearby in the city. Pillows were a little hard but beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. Owners were responsive and very nice.

Excellent communication with host. Made the whole process seamless. There is no street parking but there is a paid garage basically across the street. Property is very accessible and clean, front receptionist is available and property managers are available 9-5. Room was very clean, we were very impressed at how well kept it was. We were very comfortable and did not feel cramped even though it was 5 of us. My only issues were that the hot water was not very hot more warm and the tub kept backing up so we had to wait between showers. I would also recommend you bring your own wash cloths/towels. Other than those i would highly recommend this place and will surely be back. The price can not be beat and it was like living in a comfortable Manhattan apartment. Great stay!!

The hotel apartment is in the convenient location, but the room is too small. We a couple was staying there 3 1 nights. The first 3 nights the room was already small but acceptable. The last night the room with bunk beds was very tiny, we felt no place for everything and the other people walking noisily around the corridor. The rate was over Aud 400 for this night and we think the room is not worth the price.

Pros: Extremely clean, comfortable beds, decent shower, fantastic location, good rates for NY Cons: not many, but strange set up practically i.e. obvious thought gone into providing little items such as flannels but zero thought into realities of living space...e.g. why put a shelf above the sink so its impossible to brush your teeth or wash and zero storage space except one rod to hang 5 items between 2 rooms, when there is a large kitchen which could've handled at least a drawer!? Apart from odd things like that, was a great stay!
